'Healthy menopause': The European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) 2026 framework for precision, digital, and interdisciplinary midlife health.

INTRODUCTION: On average, women now spend more than one-third of their lives in the post-reproductive period, yet menopause care across Europe remains fragmented and uneven. Since the first publication of its model of care by the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) in 2016, major advances in precision medicine, digital phenotyping, biomarkers derived from data collected by wearable devices, artificial intelligence, hybrid care delivery, and workplace health have reshaped clinical opportunities and societal expectations. At the same time, population aging, rising multimorbidity, an

Risk factors for postmenopausal osteoporosis: anthropometric measurements, age, age at menopause and the time elapsed after menopause onset.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to determine, how much the anthropometric measurements and age affect the femur and vertebra T-scores by using correlation and regression analysis in postmenopausal women. METHODS: Data of 540 healthy postmenopausal women were included in this analysis. Bone mineral density was determined by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). The data of the patients related to height, weight, age, age at menopause were obtained from records, and body mass index (BMI) was calculated (BMI = W (kg)/H(m(2))). Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS 15.0 for Window

Menopause in Cystic Fibrosis: Special Considerations for Bone Health, Menopausal Symptoms, and Treatment.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a multisystem autosomal recessive disease arising from mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. Dysfunction of the CFTR protein leads to progressive pulmonary disease, pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, and nutritional deficiencies. Survival has significantly increased over the last several decades due to improved pulmonary and nutritional management, including CFTR modulator therapy. The adult CF population now faces new challenges of aging, such as menopause-related symptoms and age-related osteoporosis superimposed on underlyi

Changes in Australian women's perception of the menopause and menopausal symptoms before and after the climacteric.

The symptoms and perceptions of menopause of 60 Australian women were studied, by questionnaire, when they were premenopausal and 10 years later when they were postmenopausal. Menopausal symptoms expected and experienced by the women were compared, fewer women experiencing hot flushes, headache, depression and nervousness and more experiencing insomnia, increase in appetite, abdominal fullness, numbness and muscular problems. The symptoms women thought were due to hormonal changes at menopause were compared. In 1993 more women cited osteoporosis, insomnia, loss of libido, obesity and loss of m

Evaluation of breast risk at menopause: what impact on the use of menopausal hormone therapy?

A key concern with menopausal hormone therapy is the potential duration-dependent increase in breast cancer risk. Despite using progestogens (micronized progesterone and dydrogesterone), associated with the lowest risk, a slight increase in risk is still observed over 6 years of treatment. This increase in breast cancer concerns estradiol receptor-positive breast cancers and is consistent with a promoter effect on preexisting lesions. It is thus recommended to select patients according to their level of breast cancer risk before indicating menopause hormone therapy or preferring nonhormonal al

Menopausal Hormone Treatment as a Preventive against the Progress of Chronic Diseases in Menopausal Women.

This review aimed to summarize the biological rationale for the protective effects of estrogen, the robust evidence supporting the benefits of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), and the evolving regulatory and historical context shaped by the reinterpretation of the Women's Health Initiative data. This study outlines the risk-benefit profile of contemporary MHT regimens and presented a modern clinical framework for the use of MHT as a preventive strategy to support metabolic, cardiovascular, and skeletal health across and beyond the menopausal transition. Moreover, this review emphasized that m

Menstrual and menopausal health: How the two converge and a call for comprehensive menopausal education.

Menstruation and menopause are two natural processes that predominantly affect women. There is little or limited research on women`s health. Puberty when menarche begins and perimenopause/menopause are marked by natural and inevitable physical or bodily changes. Both phases are marked by hormonal changes that lead to physical and emotional changes as well as changes in the reproductive system. Both puberty and perimenopause can be marked by mood swings including irritability, tearfulness, anger, overwhelming happiness or confusion, low self-esteem, frustration and apathy. In many contexts, men

[Level of knowledge on the hazards and ailments of menopause among women at pre-menopausal age].

The aim of the project was to evaluate women's knowledge about symptoms, health hazards and preventive or mitigative measures against ailments of this life period. The study was conducted among 100 randomly chosen women, aged 42-49, experiencing the pre-menopausal time of life. The research tool was an anonymous questionnaire of own authorship. The results showed that it was menopausal symptoms the women were more familiar with rather than the health hazards resulting from hormonal deficiency. The surveyed indicated the following symptoms of this life period: mood fluctuations (82%), nervousne

Bone Health and Osteoporosis Prevention in Menopause.

Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disorder characterized by reduced bone strength and increased fracture risk, posing a major public health challenge. Hip and vertebral fractures, which predominantly affect older postmenopausal women, lead to significant disability and reduced quality of life. Accelerated bone loss begins during the menopausal transition, and early fractures (eg, wrist) can signal underlying skeletal fragility. Although effective screening tools and evidence-based lifestyle and pharmacologic interventions can prevent fractures, osteoporosis remains underdiagnosed and undertr

On Modeling Ovarian Aging and Menopause Timing.

Mathematical modeling of ovarian aging and menopause timing has a long history, dating back a half-century to the models of Nobel Prize winner Robert G. Edwards. More recently, such models have been used to investigate clinical interventions for women, which underscores the importance of scientific rigor in model development and analysis. In this paper, we analyze a recent model published in the biophysics literature. We first correct an error which invalidates claims about menopause age in different populations. We then use stochastic analysis to show how this model is a reparameterization of
