Enhancing educational assessment through automated question classification using a RoBERTa-based ensemble model.

Classifying exam questions using Bloom's Taxonomy is a critical task in education. However, performing this classification manually is often inefficient, prone to subjective errors and demands significant time from educators. To address this challenge, this study proposes and evaluates a robust system using state-of-the-art Deep Learning (DL) techniques. This system uses the pre-trained language model RoBERTa to understand the meaning of text and turn it into useful features. These features are then used by three different types of models to classify the text: a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), a L

Instructional design communication through AI-assisted storytelling: a hybrid model grounded in educational psychology.

INTRODUCTION: Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted storytelling is increasingly transforming educational communication and instructional design, particularly in isolated and remote learning environments. However, challenges related to collaboration, meaningful interaction, technological accessibility, and ethical use remain. Drawing on educational psychology, this study investigates how AI-assisted storytelling communication strategies can support cognitive engagement, motivation, creativity, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement in AI-supported educational communication systems. It also

Integrating positive psychology into undergraduate oncology education: development and evaluation of the 4C-HOPE teaching model.

BACKGROUND: Oncology education often focuses on disease burden and mortality, which may reduce students' learning interest and reinforce negative perceptions of cancer. Although positive psychology has shown educational benefits in promoting motivation, resilience, and professional development, its integration into oncology education remains insufficiently explored. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of a positive psychology-integrated oncology teaching model (4C-HOPE) in undergraduate medical education. METHODS: Sixty-eight undergraduate medical students at Sun Yat-sen University part

Performance of Large Language Models on the Brazilian National Medical Education Examination: Comparative Benchmark Study.

BACKGROUND: Large language models (LLMs) are rapidly incorporated into medical education and examination preparation; yet, most benchmarking evidence is derived from English-language material. Whether frontier commercial models and Brazilian Portuguese domain-specialized systems perform equivalently on high-stakes Brazilian medical examinations remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to quantify and compare the performance of 9 frontier commercial LLMs and 1 Brazilian Portuguese domain-specialized system (Charcot, Voa Health) on 2026 Brazilian National Medical Education Examination (Exame

Climate change, pharmaceuticals and prescribing patterns: a scoping review and proposal for the MAMS model for healthcare educators.

BACKGROUND: Healthcare contributes substantially to climate change, and pharmaceuticals account for a meaningful share of this footprint across manufacturing, distribution, prescribing, and disposal. However, climate-health education and prescribing practices are often addressed separately, leaving limited guidance for integrating climate change, pharmaceuticals, and prescribing patterns within a single framework. This scoping review synthesizes evidence on the intersection of these domains, with attention to how these concepts are incorporated into health professions education (HPE) and clini

Toward a Culturally Situated SDT-EI Model of emotional intelligence in physical education: a narrative review.

Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a pivotal construct in educational psychology; however, understanding of how physical education (PE) contributes to its development remains fragmented. Eight prior systematic reviews have concluded that PE can develop EI, but three gaps persist: no integration across educational stages, no unified mechanistic account, and no cross-cultural perspective-despite emerging evidence that EI pathways differ across cultural contexts. This narrative review synthesizes 64 publications-including primary studies, eight systematic reviews, and meta-analyses publis

[Moulage 2.0: a cross-sectional study on a 3D-printed skin model in dermatological education and training].

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Historical three-dimensional (3D) reconstructions of skin diseases, known as "moulages," were once indispensable in medical education but diminished in importance with the advent of photography. However, 3D characteristics that cannot be conveyed through two-dimensional (2D) photographs are essential in dermatology for the accurate diagnosis of skin diseases. The aim of this study was to test the use of a moulage created with modern 3D technologies in dermatological education and training, and to evaluate its benefit for teaching primary skin lesions (efflorescences)

Six aspects of female genital mutilation education (SAFE) model: findings from a qualitative study.

OBJECTIVES: Recent figures show that over 200 million women and girls, globally, live with the consequences of female genital mutilation (FGM). Complex debilitating physical, psychological and social problems result from the practice. Health education interventions have proven to be essential in both preventing the practice and informing support of survivors. In this study, we aimed to explore factors that affect the effectiveness of health education interventions. DESIGN: A generic qualitative approach was applied using semistructured individual and focus group interviews with women and men
