Logistics modelling: improving resource management and public information strategies in Florida.

One of the most time-sensitive and logistically-challenging emergency response operations today is to provide mass prophylaxis to every man, woman and child in a community within 48 hours of a bioterrorism attack. To meet this challenge, federal, state and local public health departments in the USA have joined forces to develop, test and execute large-scale bioterrorism response plans. This preparedness and response effort is funded through the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Cities Readiness Initiative, a programme dedicated to providing oral antibiotics to an entire populatio

An actor-focused model of justice rule adherence and violation: the role of managerial motives and discretion.

Research on organizational justice has focused primarily on the receivers of just and unjust treatment. Little is known about why managers adhere to or violate rules of justice in the first place. The authors introduce a model for understanding justice rule adherence and violation. They identify both cognitive motives and affective motives that explain why managers adhere to and violate justice rules. They also draw distinctions among the justice rules by specifying which rules offer managers more or less discretion in their execution. They then describe how motives and discretion interact to

Models of maternal-infant attachment: a role for nurses.

Two models of maternal-infant attachment, one related to full-term newborns (Goulet, Bell, St-Cyr Tribble, Paul, & Lang, 1998), and one including premature infants (Bialoskurski, Cox, & Hayes, 1999), are examined. The elements of both models are integrated into a more comprehensive model. Implicit organizational components are made explicit, and a discussion regarding the possibility of fit for the extremely low-birth-weight (ELBW) group is offered. This integrated model can serve as a basis for neonatal nurses to improve care for newly emerging families and especially those of the premature/l

Escaping voluntary confinement: A framework to address Stockholm syndrome in cardiac nursing.

BACKGROUND: Due to high burnout and intense emotional investment in patient outcomes, nurses may inadvertently become trapped in dysfunctional interpersonal dynamics at work, resembling Stockholm syndrome. Understanding and managing this phenomenon requires field research. This study explores intervention strategies to address organizational Stockholm syndrome among nursing staff in cardiac care hospitals in Isfahan. METHODS: This sequential exploratory mixed-methods study comprised qualitative and quantitative phases. In Phase I, 21 cardiac nursing specialists were purposively recruited and

Developing services for substance-abusing HIV-positive youth with mental health disorders.

Models of program development have primarily focused on the internal organizational processes needed to plan, implement, and evaluate new service programs. However, creating an external demand for new programs by policy makers, administrative bureaucracies, public health officials, and funders is critical to establishing new programs. A series of deaths of seropositive youth and an absence of local service settings with staff trained to address the needs of youth living with HIV provided the impetus for Larkin Street Youth Center. In particular, the agency had to overcome stigma associated wit

Navigating the future of Alzheimer's care in Ireland - a service model for disease-modifying therapies in small and medium-sized healthcare systems.

BACKGROUND: A new class of antibody-based drug therapy with the potential for disease modification is now available for Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the complexity of drug eligibility, administration, cost, and safety of such disease modifying therapies (DMTs) necessitates adopting new treatment and care pathways. A working group was convened in Ireland to consider the implications of, and health system readiness for, DMTs for AD, and to describe a service model for the detection, diagnosis, and management of early AD in the Irish context, providing a template for similar small-medium si

Strategic Planning Perception as a Mediator Between Psychological Resilience and Coping Strategies Among Nursing Staff: Implications for Workforce Resilience.

BACKGROUND: Nurses frequently encounter demanding clinical environments that require effective coping to maintain performance and well-being. Psychological resilience has been recognized as a key personal resource that enables nurses to adapt to occupational stress. However, organizational factors, such as nurses' perceptions of strategic planning, may also shape how resilience translates into effective coping strategies. AIM: This study aimed to examine the mediating role of strategic planning perception in the relationship between psychological resilience and coping strategies among nursing

Building psychological resources for green organizational citizenship behavior: a broaden-and-build perspective on empowerment, environmental passion, and leaders' emotional intelligence.

Green organizational citizenship behavior is essential for translating corporate sustainability strategies into everyday work practices. Although green transformational leadership has been widely examined as an antecedent of employee green behavior, less is known about why it encourages employees to go beyond formal job duties and when this effect becomes stronger. Drawing on Broaden-and-Build Theory, this study develops a psychological resource model linking team-level green transformational leadership to green organizational citizenship behavior through employees' cognitive-motivational and

Challenges in identifying and interpreting organizational modules in morphology.

Form is a rich concept that agglutinates information about the proportions and topological arrangement of body parts. Modularity is readily measurable in both features, the variation of proportions (variational modules) and the organization of topology (organizational modules). The study of variational modularity and of organizational modularity faces similar challenges regarding the identification of meaningful modules and the validation of generative processes; however, most studies in morphology focus solely on variational modularity, while organizational modularity is much less understood.

Organizational adoption of AI-driven digital twins: evidence from the hospitality industry.

INTRODUCTION: Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled Digital Twins are emerging as advanced cyber-physical technologies that support real-time decision-making, predictive analytics, and operational optimization. However, limited empirical evidence exists on the organizational factors influencing their adoption in hospitality, particularly across countries with different levels of digital maturity and institutional development. This study investigates hotel managers' intentions to adopt AI-enabled Digital Twin technologies in Serbia and Hungary by extending the UTAUT2 framework with Digital Readi

Supporting implementation of the national standards for cancer survivorship care: development of the cancer survivorship maturity model (CSMM).

PURPOSE: The National Standards for Cancer Survivorship Care define the domains of care that healthcare organizations should deliver, yet few tools exist to assess organizational capability and implementation maturity for the National Standards. We developed and preliminarily evaluated the cancer survivorship maturity model (CSMM), a framework designed to assess organizational maturity in real-world oncology settings. METHODS: We conducted a mixed-methods, participatory model development study. A preliminary CSMM was refined through five multidisciplinary focus groups at a comprehensive cance

How Implementation Context Shapes Clinician Acceptance and Engagement with Guideline-Based Clinical Decision Support Systems in Primary Care: A Qualitative Study.

BACKGROUND: Guideline-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools have become central to promoting evidence-based, high-quality primary care. Despite widespread implementation, clinician adoption and sustained use remain inconsistent. Existing research has typically examined technological usability or organizational implementation factors separately, providing limited understanding of how these influences interact in real-world primary care settings. This study examined how organizational implementation context and clinician technology acceptance jointly shape adoption and sustained use of gui
