INTRODUCTION: Acquired nasopharyngeal stenosis typically occurs as a result of surgery or irradiation of the nasopharynx. Sarcoidosis has numerous manifestations in the head and neck region, although an association with nasopharyngeal stenosis has not previously been reported.
CASE REPORT: A 40-year-old man with sarcoidosis developed severe acquired nasopharyngeal stenosis. This was successfully managed with balloon dilatation, followed by pharyngoplasty with local pharyngeal flap reconstruction.

We present an unusual case of a 54-year-old Chinese lady presenting to the ears, nose and throat clinic after family members noticed that her hearing had progressively deteriorated over the preceding weeks. She also complained of tinnitus. Examination of the ears, nose and throat was unremarkable. Flexible nasoendoscopy demonstrated swelling in the postnasal space, which, following biopsy, was shown to be pathognomonic of tuberculosis. This was successfully treated with multidisciplinary input and the patient made a complete recovery.

AIM: Presentation of experiences and results of surgical treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: 4 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma operated in Department of Otolaryngology and Laryngological Oncology of Poznan University of Medical Sciences between 2006 and 2011. In one case operation was performed via transpalatal approach and in other three cases via transfacial approach (via lateral rhinotomy). In all cases operation was supported by endoscopy and in advanced tumors (T4) also by navigation.

This brief review will focus on nasopharynx-associated lymphoid tissue as a unique inductive immune site for B cell responses and plasma cell generation. The anatomical and immunological characteristics of Waldeyer's lymphoid ring should make the nasal route for vaccine administration highly relevant in future clinical trials to stimulate both mucosal and systemic immunity. In this context, the potential immunological consequences of removing both the tonsils and the adenoids have to be considered.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma usually has an insidious onset and non-specific features in the initial stages. This makes early diagnosis difficult. The most usual presenting features are cervical lymphadenopathy, otological symptoms (serous otitis media) and involvement of adjacent cranial nerves. We report a case of Gradenigo's syndrome in a patient of undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma represents non-incapsulated benign tumor. It can lead to serious problems with the extension into nearest structures. Recidivism is described in 20 to 30 % of cases, after surgical or other adjuvant therapy. Three patients with juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma that underwent surgery in a five year period (2001-2005) at the ENT Clinic of the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo are evaluated in this paper. CASE DESCRIPTION: A dog was examined because of a 6-month history of upper airway stridor that began after postoperative regurgitation of gastric contents.
CLINICAL FINDINGS: Constant stridor was evident during inspiration and expiration, although it was worse during inspiration. INTRODUCTION: Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibromas are highly vascular, non-encapsulated tumours affecting predominantly young males. These lesions are benign histologically but they may become life-threatening with excessive bleeding or intracranial extension.

PURPOSE: The aim of this work is to study the epidemiological, clinical and evolutive characteristics of the erysipela in patients treated for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
