Male breast cancer is a rare but important condition accounting for only 1% of breast cancer worldwide and less than 1% of all male malignancies. Occult male breast cancer is an extremely rare type of male breast cancer that manifests as axillary metastases without an identifiable breast lesion. CONTEXT: Cabergoline has been shown to have some effect in the treatment of moderate Cushing's disease, but its effectiveness in Cushing's syndrome of ectopic or occult origin remains to be investigated.
CASE SERIES: In this case series, cabergoline was used in combination with steroidogenesis inhibitors in nine patients with severe Cushing's syndrome of ectopic or occult origin. Cabergoline's effectiveness enabled rapid withdrawal of the steroidogenesis inhibitors and long-term control of the hypercortisolism in three of the cases.

BACKGROUND: Liver dysfunction leads to endocrine disturbance due to the alteration in protein metabolism or synthesis. We studied the presence of occult endocrine dysfunction in liver cirrhosis and compared the same with underlying etiology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We evaluated thirty patients with liver cirrhosis in this cross-sectional, observational study. All subjects were assessed for pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, and gonadal function. The patients were divided into Group 1 (cirrhosis, n = 30) and Group 2 (controls, n = 15) and the data were analyzed with appropriate statistical tests.

In this article we present a case of an incidental encephalocoele protruding through a dural defect into the transverse sinus. Encephalocoeles are usually described as a herniation of the meninges and brain parenchyma through a bony defect of the cranium or base of skull. To our knowledge, there are only a few patients reported in the literature of occult encephalocoeles through dural defects. Our case study highlights that encephalocoele should be a differential diagnosis for a filling defect in this location.

Spina bifida is a common birth defect affecting the central nervous system and represents a group of neural tube defects caused by congenital dysraphic malformations of the vertebral column and/or spinal cord. AIM: The study aims to ascertain the significance of ultrasonically occult but mammographically suspicious parenchymal abnormalities, detected at screening mammography.
METHOD: A retrospective analysis was made on BreastScreen Western Australia data from January 2004 to December 2009.
