The net-like superficial lymphatic malformation (LM) is a newly described entity with distinctive clinical, dermoscopic, and histologic characteristics. Clinical picture consists of red to purplish macules with a finely reticulated pattern of vascular structures. Dermoscopy shows arborizing telangiectatic vessels. Histology is characterized by a vascular proliferation composed of thin-walled vessels, located in the upper dermis, that stains positive with podoplanin (D2-40). We report a new case of LM with an additional clinical feature, hypopigmented areas.

The synchronous presentation of venolymphatic anomalies of the orbit and noncontiguous intracranial cavernous malformations is uncommon. Herein, we present a case of an 11-month-old female patient diagnosed with orbital venolymphatic anomaly associated with a large cavernous malformation in the posterior fossa, who underwent complete surgical resection of the latter. The immunohistochemical analysis was positive for podoplanin, a marker expressed by lymphatic endothelial cells, but not vascular endothelium. This exceptional finding suggests lymphatic involvement in the etiology of the lesion.

Although not a diagnostic criterion for basal cell nevus syndrome (BCNS, OMIM#109400), cutaneous cysts, particularly epidermoid cysts, are common in this condition. Cutaneous keratocysts, on the other hand, are extremely rare in general and have been identified in only 5 patients with BCNS. Here, we describe a BCNS patient with a cutaneous keratocyst that demonstrated D2-40 (podoplanin) immunoreactivity, which has been detected in odontogenic keratocysts but not cutaneous keratocysts. In this brief report, we described some uncommon cytomorphological features of malignant mesothelioma (MM) cells in pleural effusions. BACKGROUND: The unphysiological composition of peritoneal dialysis (PD) fluids induces progressive peritoneal fibrosis, hypervascularization and vasculopathy. Information on these alterations after kidney transplantation (KTx) is scant.
