We report on a patient with congenital absence of the left pectoralis major muscle, whose second cousin had the full Poland sequence. This suggests that isolated pectoralis major muscle defect should be included in the spectrum of anomalies characterized as the Poland sequence, postulated to result from disruption of blood supply in the embryonic subclavian and vertebral arteries, the site and degree of obstruction determining the sites and severity of the resulting anomalies. Very few cases are familial; in these the family pattern is compatible with an autosomal dominant mutant gene with red

BACKGROUND: Lyme disease is a vector-borne disease transmitted by ticks of the Ixodes genus, caused by a heterogeneous group of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato. Human infection occurs through a tick bite and its feeding on the skin. Due to the diverse symptoms, diagnosing Lyme disease is challenging and usually involves a two-step serological approach. Currently, there is still no vaccine against Lyme disease, but in 2024, data on the immunogenicity and safety of the VLA15-221 vaccine, which is in the second phase of clinical trials, was announced.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study is to discus

Its prevalence varies globally, yet specific data from Poland are limited. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of HS among adults in Poland, utilizing standardized methods as part of the Global Hidradenitis Suppurativa Atlas (GHiSA) initiative.
METHODS: This monocenter study was conducted at the Internal Medicine Departments of University Hospital of Wroclaw. In the study, participants were individuals accompanying patients administered to

BACKGROUND: In 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic continued, however, due to the implementation of vaccination, fewer disruptions were observed in healthcare. In the detection of HCV - inextricably linked to access to testing - there was an incomplete return to the pre-pandemic level of diagnostics (in the EU/EEA in 2021, 4.1 infections/100,000, in 2019 - 8.8). The aim of the article was to present the HCV situation in 2021 according to the data of the epidemiological surveillance in Poland compared to 2015-2020.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: We used the data: 1) from individual epidemiological surveillance

INTRODUCTION: Lyme disease, a zoonosis transmitted by vector (by ticks), may manifest itself in several different forms, such as: erythema migrans, osteoarticular or neuroborreliosis. Infection occurs when an infected common tick (Ixodes ricinus) feeds. Lyme disease is seasonal due to the cycle of tick activity throughout the year.
AIM OF THE STUDY: The aim of the study was to assess the epidemiological situation of Lyme disease in Poland in 2021 compared to the situation in previous years.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: To assess the epidemiological situation of Lyme disease in Poland, data sent to

INTRODUCTION: Pertussis is an endemic, highly contagious disease that can be prevented through vaccination. In Poland, since the second half of the nineties, changes in the epidemiology of pertussis have been observed - an increase in the number of cases, despite the high level of vaccination of the population. The highest percentage of registered cases of pertussis concerned people aged 15 and over. The causes of the increased incidence of pertussis are a complex problem. Immunity after pertussis vaccination is unstable, disappears within 4-12 years, and the risk of the disease increases with
