Inaccuracies in Google's Health-Based Knowledge Panels Perpetuate Widespread Misconceptions Involving Infectious Disease Transmission.

Google health-based Knowledge Panels were designed to provide users with high-quality basic medical information on a specific condition. However, any errors contained within Knowledge Panels could result in the widespread distribution of inaccurate health information. We explored the potential for inaccuracies to exist within Google's health-based Knowledge Panels by focusing on a single well-studied pathogen, Ebola virus (EBOV). We then evaluated the accuracy of those transmission modes listed within the Google Ebola Knowledge Panel and investigated the pervasiveness of any misconceptions ass

Search trends and prediction of human brucellosis using Baidu index data from 2011 to 2018 in China.

Reporting on brucellosis, a relatively rare infectious disease caused by Brucella, is often delayed or incomplete in traditional disease surveillance systems in China. Internet search engine data related to brucellosis can provide an economical and efficient complement to a conventional surveillance system because people tend to seek brucellosis-related health information from Baidu, the largest search engine in China. In this study, brucellosis incidence data reported by the CDC of China and Baidu index data were gathered to evaluate the relationship between them. We applied an autoregressive

New Genetic Markers Differentiating IPEC and ExPEC Pathotypes-A New Approach to Genome-Wide Analysis Using a New Bioinformatics Tool.

The increasingly expanding genomic databases generate the need for new tools for their processing and further use. In the paper, a bioinformatics tool, which is a search engine of microsatellite elements-trinucleotide repeat sequences (TRS) in files of FASTA type-is presented. An innovative approach was applied in the tool, which consists of connecting-within one search engine-both mapping of TRS motifs and extracting sequences that are found between the mapped TRS motifs. Accordingly, we present hereby the tool called TRS-omix, which comprises a new engine for searching information on genomes
