A pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) mostly occurs in association with biliary tract disease, but some PLAs have no apparent underlying cause, i.e., they are cryptogenic. The authors experienced three cases of PLA or liver cyst infection after colon polypectomy without other distinct etiologies. These cases suggest that colonoscopic polypectomy can cause a mucosal defect that provides a route for bacteria to invade the portal system or spread intraperitoneally to the liver. Colonoscopic polypectomy should be considered as a procedure that might cause PLA. Moreover, clinicians should be aware of this

We report the case of a female found to have mosaicism for mutation in the STK11 gene, with the mutant allele expressed in her gametes, evident by her affected offspring, and in her gastrointestinal tract demonstrated on an excised polyp analysed for diagnosis. However, TEM equipment requires additional operative setup time, and tumor location dictates patient positioning. In 2010, Drs. The transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) is an adequate method for the local full-thickness excision of large rectum polyps and pT1 "low-risk" rectal carcinomas. Intussusception is primarily a disease of childhood; only about 5 to 10 per cent of cases occur in adults. In contrast to childhood intussusception 90 per cent of adults have an associated pathologic process, usually a malignant lesion. Adult cases do not have the classical symptoms and diagnosis may be difficult. CT scan and barium studies are the most useful diagnostic methods. We report a very rare case of adult ileocecocolic intussusception caused by a pedunculated malignant polyp of the cecum and review the clinical features of intussusception.

Within a period of 18 months, 387 patients were referred to the Proctologic Service at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center because of recurrent rectal bleeding. We report on 50 totally colectomised children, most of whom suffered from Hirschsprung's disease. Of the 50, one child died postoperatively of enteritis. On an average, the children were re-examined 5 1/2 years after the colectomy. The findings were as follows: With the exception of four, the size and weight of the patients were within the norm; 20 passed frequent stools of pulpy consistency; 16 suffered from disturbances of continence; 14 developed severe, partially recurrent enteritis. We did not find any advantage of a single method of operation, e.g. Martin's operation.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to evaluate the outcome of patients with type 1 gastric neuroendocrine neoplasia (T1gNENs) treated with different endoscopic approaches.
METHODS: Patients were managed with endoscopic surveillance at regular intervals. Resection was performed by forceps or cold snare in tumours < 10 mm, otherwise mucosal resection (EMR) or submucosal dissection (ESD) were done.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Ileosigmoid fistulas (ISFs) are frequently undiagnosed prior to surgery. This study was designed to describe a polyp or cluster of polyps limited to the sigmoid colon as a marker of ISF in patients with ileitis. Benign duodenal neoplasms (BDNs) are uncommon, and their optimal management remains undefined. We analyzed all cases of BDN treated at our institution during a 10-year period (January 1990 through January 2000). Data are expressed as median (range). Sixty-two patients were treated for BDNs. The results of histologic examination of their lesions were as follows: 36 adenomas, eight Brunner's gland tumors, 10 inflammatory polyps, two hamartomas, and six others.
