PURPOSE: Acne is a serious disfiguring follicular sebaceous gland disorder that negatively affects patients' quality of life and self-image. Chloramphenicol (CAM) is effective against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus aureus which cause acne, often used as a hospital preparation for acne treatment. However, because of its toxicity and poor water solubility, its use has been restricted. To overcome these limitations, the study focused on developing CAM-loaded binary ethosomes (CAM-BE) and incorporating them into a hydrogel system for transdermal delivery.

Resveratrol is known to be a naturally produced polyphenol that is able to reduce cell proliferation in several types of cancer cells and adipocytes. We report a case of a 19 month old boy that presented with acneform eruption on his cheeks since birth. This condition was left untreated until the age of one. At that time the lesions developed into inflammatory nodules that resolved after topical treatment (Aknemycin fluid, cynober-sulfer pastae) and remission exist during 6 months. Based on presented case authors describe etiopatogenesis of acne and have done rewies of the literature regarding therapy, indications and safety of administration of oral retinoids to children.

Although aural neoplasia is a relatively uncommon entity in companion animals, it remains a group of heterogeneous conditions that can have a significant negative impact on quality and duration of life of dogs and cats. Chronic ear disease that responds poorly or partially to empiric therapy should raise the suspicion that an underlying condition, such as neoplasia, may be the perpetrator of inflammation. Early diagnosis followed by appropriate therapy improves the likelihood of disease control and prolonged survival.
