Author guidelines in the AI era: Writing for readers, search engines, and reproducibility. Insights from editorial practice.

Scientific journals establish author guidelines to ensure manuscript consistency, enhance readability, and maintain editorial standards. However, the rationale behind specific requirements is not always apparent to submitting authors, leading to misunderstandings and noncompliance. This editorial examines the instructions for authors currently applied at Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine, explaining the purpose behind selected regulations that may initially seem arbitrary or overly prescriptive. We analyze requirements concerning manuscript titles (sentence case, study design spec

Decolonizing global health: a scoping review.

We summarize research on decolonizing global health and highlight existing gaps, including the lack of a formal definition and clear aims for the movement. We examine the decolonization of global health curricula and authorship in indexed journals, aiming to build a shared understanding among global health scholars. The review included studies from all global regions to ensure comprehensive geographical representation. Of the 155 identified records, most were published from 2021 onward and predominantly originated from the Global North. Studies focusing solely on racism were excluded. Addition

Trends and Scientific Production on Isometric Training: A Bibliometric Analysis.

Isometric training is a method focused on muscle strengthening without joint movement and has gained attention in recent years due to its applicability in rehabilitation and sports medicine. However, no comprehensive bibliometric analysis focused exclusively on adult populations has been performed. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production related to isometric training in adults; identify prominent authors, journals, and thematic trends; and evaluate the evolution of interest in this field over time. A bibliometric review was performed using the Web of Science Core Collection (SCI-

Effects of tele-exercise rehabilitation intervention on women at high risk of osteoporotic fractures: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial.

INTRODUCTION: Premenopausal and postmenopausal osteoporosis and associated fragility fractures are major public health problems. Exercise, especially moderate-to-high-intensity impact exercise, has been recommended as an effective, low-cost non-pharmacological strategy for bone strength improvement; however, evidence on fracture risk is limited. In addition, maintaining regular training is currently a problem. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a randomised controlled trial of moderate-to-high-intensity tele-exercise intervention using a tele-rehabilitation app and quantify its effects on v

Caspar Stromayr: sixteenth century ophthalmologist.

Caspar Stromayr, ophthalmologist and hernia surgeon, is credited with writing the first German ophthalmic work of known authorship. Written in about 1559 as an appendix to Practica Copiosa, a larger work on hernia surgery, the ophthalmic chapters describe Stromayr's thoughts on the etiology and treatment of cataract. Stromayr, a master craftsman, also expresses his hostility to the shams and ignorance of the charlatan eye surgeons of his day. This interesting historical article provides a biographical sketch of Stromayr, a description of his book, and a translation of two chapters, "On Catarac

LLM-Storyteller: child-guided narrative co-creation via real-time adaptive prompting and visualization with an embodied robot.

Interactive storytelling has shown great potential in supporting children's creativity. However, existing robotic storytelling systems mostly treat the robot as the primary author or lack the ability to adapt to a child's interaction state in real time. In this paper, we present LLM-Storyteller, an embodied robotic system designed for child-guided narrative co-creation. The system preserves the child's authorship by acting solely as a facilitator through adaptive prompting, which adjusts based on real-time classification of the child's interaction state. Furthermore, it closes the creative loo

Automation bias in teachers' evaluation of student writing: effects of algorithmic warnings and visual risk cues in AI detection reports.

As generative artificial intelligence becomes integrated into higher education, teachers increasingly rely on AI text-detection reports to support judgments about authorship, writing quality, and academic integrity. Existing research has mainly examined detector accuracy, false positives, fairness, and policy; less is known about whether report design itself shapes teachers' evaluations when the judged text is unchanged. This gap matters because numerical scores and visual warnings may frame interpretation, anchor suspicion, and encourage confirmatory reading under uncertainty. Here, we tested

Examining self-described policy-relevant evidence base for policymaking: an evidence map of COVID-19 literature.

BACKGROUND: Evidence-based policymaking is a paradigm aimed at increasing the use of evidence by actors involved in policymaking processes. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted a heavy reliance on emerging evidence for policymaking during emergencies. OBJECTIVE: This study describes the focus and types of evidence in journal articles self-described as relevant to policymaking using the COVID-19 pandemic as a case study, identifying gaps in evidence and highlighting author stated perceived biases specifically in evidence-based policy making. DESIGN: Evidence mapping. DATA SOURCES: We systematic

Ethical design as a prerequisite for translational microbiome science.

Human microbiome research is expanding globally, yet remains dominated by samples, institutions, and leadership from the Global North. This imbalance undermines scientific validity, as microbiomes are shaped by socio-ecological context and temporal dynamics, and risks producing diagnostics and therapeutics that are not applicable across diverse populations. In this comment, we engage with van Daele et al.'s framework of co-laboration and argue for ethical, interdisciplinary, and locally led research models that center community participation, context-rich metadata, and equitable authorship.
