Concentrations and characteristics of 82 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were measured in indoor and outdoor air in one elementary school of Beijing by method TO14/15 recommended by USEPA in 2007 summer. And the toxic VOCs for children's health were identified. The study illuminates that the concentration level of total VOCs were higher in indoor air than in outdoor air. Selective extraction of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) without structural modification of the Natural Organic Matter (NOM) from a heavily contaminated sediment was investigated using various solvents mixtures. No CF···HO intramolecular hydrogen bonds (IHBs) in 2-fluoroethanol, 3-fluoropropanol and 4-fluorobutanol can be detected experimentally in solution by NMR and infrared spectroscopies. A method for the determination of S0 in coal based on the extraction with cyclohexane with subsequent quantitative analysis of elemental sulfur in the extract by GC/MS is described. Four new porous homochiral metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), [M2(camph)2(bpa)]∙Solv (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)), based on (+)-camphoric acid (H2camph) and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpa) were synthesized and characterized. Porous covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been widely used for the efficient removal of iodine from solution due to their abundance of electron-rich sites. In this study, two kinds of ketoenamine-based COFs, TpBD-(OMe)2 and TpBD-Me2, are successfully synthesized via Schiff base reaction under solvothermal conditions using 1, 3, 5-triformylphoroglucinol as aldehyde monomer, o-tolidine and o-dianisidine as amino monomers. The ability of TpBD-(OMe)2 and TpBD-Me2 to adsorb iodine in cyclohexane or aqueous solutions has been quantitatively analyzed and interpreted in terms of adsorption sites.

A homochiral luminescent porous coordination polymer, [Cd(L)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, with interconnected collagen like triple-helical chains has been synthesized solvothermally by using cadmium(II) salt and a newly designed d-isosorbide-based, enantiomerically pure chiral ligand. The framework is a 2D porous material and forms a 1D channel along the a axis, with the channel dimensions ~6.2 × 4.4 Å(2). The compound has high selectivity in the uptake of water and methanol over other solvents (e.g., tetrahydrofuran, ethanol, benzene, and cyclohexane) inside the channels.
