Topo-CNN: Retinal Image Analysis with Topological Deep Learning.

The analysis of fundus images is vital for early detection of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy (DR), glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), but traditional methods are resource-intensive. We propose an automated and interpretable diagnostic framework that leverages novel feature representations to improve performance. Our main contribution is a topological feature extraction technique based on Topological Data Analysis (TDA), which captures geometric and structural patterns in fundus images. These features are computationally efficient and interpretable. We integrat

Generative Deep Learning Pipeline Yields Potent Gram-Negative Antibiotics.

The escalating crisis of multiresistant bacteria demands the rapid discovery of novel antibiotics that transcend the limitations imposed by the biased chemical space of current libraries. To address this challenge, we introduce an innovative deep learning-driven pipeline for de novo antibiotic design. Our unique approach leverages a chemical language model to generate structurally unprecedented antibiotic candidates. The model was trained on a diverse chemical space of drug-like molecules and natural products. We then applied transfer learning using a data set of diverse antibiotic scaffolds t

An efficient deepfake video detection using robust deep learning.

The creation and manipulation of synthetic images have evolved rapidly, causing serious concerns about their effects on society. Although there have been various attempts to identify deep fake videos, these approaches are not universal. Identifying these misleading deepfakes is the first step in preventing them from spreading on social media sites. We introduce a unique deep-learning technique to identify fraudulent clips. Most deepfake identifiers currently focus on identifying face exchange, lip synchronous, expression modification, puppeteers, and other factors. However, exploring a consist

Optical coherence tomography choroidal enhancement using generative deep learning.

Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT) is the gold standard of imaging the eye in clinics. Penetration depth with such devices is, however, limited and visualization of the choroid, which is essential for diagnosing chorioretinal disease, remains limited. Whereas swept-source OCT (SSOCT) devices allow for visualization of the choroid these instruments are expensive and availability in praxis is limited. We present an artificial intelligence (AI)-based solution to enhance the visualization of the choroid in OCT scans and allow for quantitative measurements of choroidal metrics usi

Deep-Learning Uncovers certain CCM Isoforms as Transcription Factors.

BACKGROUND: Cerebral Cavernous Malformations (CCMs) are brain vascular abnormalities associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic strokes. Familial CCMs result from autosomal dominant inheritance involving three genes: KRIT1 (CCM1), MGC4607 (CCM2), and PDCD10 (CCM3). CCM1 and CCM3 form the CCM Signal Complex (CSC) by binding to CCM2. Both CCM1 and CCM2 exhibit cellular heterogeneity through multiple alternative spliced isoforms, where exons from the same gene combine in diverse ways, leading to varied mRNA transcripts. Additionally, both demonstrate nucleocytoplasmic shuttling between the
