We have compared HindIII and EcoRI restriction sites in the long and short unique regions of the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) genome among 20 low passage clinical isolates and four high passage laboratory strains (AD169, Davis, Towne, UW-1). At this time, dornase is approved only for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis. Based on the results of the trials discussed, dornase appears to be well tolerated by patients with chronic bronchitis. However, the therapeutic benefit of dornase in chronic bronchitis remains unclear. BACKGROUND: Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are observed in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), although their role remains unclear.
OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate the influence of NETs on the CRS epithelium.
METHODS: Forty-five sinonasal biopsy specimens were immunofluorescence-stained to identify NETs and p63+ basal stem cells. Investigators treated human nasal epithelial cells with NETs and studied them with immunofluorescence staining, Western blotting, and quantitative real-time PCR. Incorporation of a piperazino-modified 2'-amino-LNA monomer (PipLNA-T) into oligonucleotides conferred very high affinity and base-pairing selectivity towards complementary DNA and RNA strands. Furthermore, one PipLNA-T modification provided a robust nuclease resistance that safeguarded three neighbouring natural nucleosides from 3'-exonucleolytic degradation.
