Patients with PTEN Hamartoma Tumour Syndrome (PHTS) are at increased risk of developing cancer. Many adult PHTS patients are not recognized as such and do not receive the cancer surveillance they need. AIM: the aim of this study was to report single centre experience with cyclosporine used in treatment of children with inflammatory bowel disease with regard to safety and efficacy.

Radiotherapy for the nasopharyngeal cancer patient with poor oral care may lead to severe deterioration of the dentition and may require multiple extractions. Although the use of an implant-retained overdenture can successfully restore the function and esthetics of edentulous patients, its use can be complicated by the tissue changes subsequent to head and neck irradiation. The difficulties in implant treatment planning for an edentulous patient with macroglossia and soft tissue changes following radiotherapy are discussed.

Background and Clinical Significance: Scurvy, caused by chronic vitamin C deficiency, is re-emerging in Western countries, particularly among pediatric patients with highly selective diets. While its musculoskeletal and mucocutaneous manifestations are well-known, its association with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is rare and poorly understood. Ascorbic acid and iron are essential cofactors for prolyl hydroxylases (PHD), which regulate Hypoxia-Inducible Factors. Clinical aspects of FK-506 or cyclosporine immunosuppression regimens were evaluated in 48 consecutive pediatric renal transplant recipients. The new immunosuppressive agent FK506 was used with steroids to treat 22 pediatric patients who received living-related partial liver transplantation. INTRODUCTION: Basiliximab is a monoclonal antibody directed to the interleukin-2 receptor. Several studies have demonstrated both its efficacy and safety. Even with the use of polyclonal antibodies in renal pediatric transplant recipients, the local incidence of steroid-resistant rejections has been close to 10% of the total incidence of acute rejection episodes (AREs). An open, multicenter prospective study was performed to assess the safety tolerability, and efficacy of induction with basiliximab in renal pediatric transplant patients receiving cyclosporine, mycophenolate, and steroids.

Oral cavity reflects the health status of an individual. Many systemic diseases have signs and symptoms that manifest in the oral cavity, which in most of the cases precede the systemic manifestations. These array of diseases also include acute leukemias which present as gingival hyperplasia as the most consistent symptom seeking dental consultation that can be easily confused with many other benign conditions that present as gingival enlargements.
