BACKGROUND: The bark of Terminalia arjuna L. (Combretaceae) is used in Ayurveda since ancient times for the treatment of cardiac disorders. Pasteurella haemolytica leukotoxin is a ruminant specific leukotoxin that has been implicated in the pathogenesis of shipping fever in cattle.
