Research on the recovery and purification of lead ions from the aqueous leachate of municipal solid waste incineration fly ash.

The incineration of municipal solid waste generates a significant amount of MSWIFA, which poses environmental risks due to its high chlorine and lead content, hindering its resourceful utilization. Firstly, water washing is used to remove chlorine and heavy metals from the MSWIFA, followed by a combination of CO2 aeration and acid leaching to recover lead from the aqueous leachate and purify the lead in the CO2 precipitate. According to the research results, the MSWIFA from waste incineration was pre-treated with a single water washing at 500 r/min with a liquid-to-solid ratio of 5 for 10 min.

Solid-waste-derived reconstructed soil drives synergistic restoration of abandoned polymetallic mining sites: Evidence from soil properties and microbial network.

Mining activities have generated extensive areas of degraded land worldwide, particularly in polymetallic mining regions where severe heavy-metal contamination and poor soil structure constrain ecological restoration. To overcome the limitations of conventional restoration-such as high cost, long duration, and secondary pollution-We have innovatively proposed a soil restoration technology derived from solid waste. A reconstructed soil matrix was prepared by precisely blending fly ash, blast furnace slag, desulfurization gypsum, municipal sludge, and rice straw. Combined with mineral-functional

Synergistic removal of Hg0, HCl, and SO2 from flue gas in municipal solid waste incineration by mechanically modified fly ash.

The emissions of flue gas components (such as Hg0, SO2, HCl) and the generation of hazardous waste fly ash from municipal waste incineration pose a significant threat to environmental integrity. In this study, a mechanochemical method combined with a modifier is innovatively proposed for the modification of fly ash to remove Hg0. In the fixed bed adsorption experiment, the removal efficiency of up to 60 percent can be achieved by ball milling (700rap,30min) alone. The modification of fly ash by mechanical force coupling with pyrite can achieve Hg0 removal efficiency is increased to more than 9

The potential oxidation characteristics of CaCr2O4 during coal combustion with solid waste in a fluidized bed boiler: A thermogravimetric analysis.

CaCr2O4 (Cr (III)), mainly generated through the decomposition of CaCrO4 (Cr (VI)), is a significant intermediate for toxic Cr (VI) formation during solid fuel combustion. In this study, the formation, oxidation and sulfation kinetics of CaCr2O4 were analyzed to forecast the potential of CaCr2O4 oxidation during co-firing of coal and solid waste in a circulating fluidized bed boiler. The results indicated that the formation and oxidation of CaCr2O4 were fitted to a single step nucleation and growth model while CaCr2O4 sulfation was fitted to a shrinking core model. CaCr2O4 formation through Ca

Assessment of Deterioration Characteristics of Solid Waste-Based Binder-Stabilized Laterite Under Multiple Environmental Factors Based on Micro-Drilling Resistance.

Solid waste-based binder-stabilized laterite is prone to progressive deterioration under multiple coupled environmental factors in practical engineering applications. Conventional compression and direct shear tests fail to accurately characterize the gradient deterioration pattern of stabilized laterite specimens. In this study, a multi-factor test scheme was designed using response surface methodology, with wet-dry cycle number, initial humic acid content, and magnesium sulfate solution concentration selected as environmental factors. Continuous drilling resistance-drilling depth curves of st

Waste-Derived Natural Polymer Biosorbents for Toxic Metal Ions: Structure-Sorption Relationships, Modification Strategies, and Prospects for Solid-Phase Sensing.

Waste-derived natural polymers offer a route to low-cost sorbents for toxic metal ions, but reported performance is difficult to compare because precursor composition, polymer processing, modification, and experimental conditions vary widely. This critical review examines silk fibroin, banana peel, orange peel, and pectin as structurally distinct platforms and evaluates how macromolecular chemistry, esterification, ionic crosslinking, morphology, and regeneration influence metal uptake. Particular attention is given to the distinction between untreated biomass, isolated biopolymers, and chemic

Oxidation and reduction reactions of (Al/FexCr1-x)2O3 caused by CaO during thermal treatment of solid waste containing Cr.

Solid solutions of (AlxCr1-x)2O3 and (FexCr1-x)2O3 are predominant compounds containing Cr in solid waste and are frequently formed during thermal treatment of solid waste. (AlxCr1-x)2O3 and (FexCr1-x)2O3 have superior thermomechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance. However, oxidation and reduction reactions of the Cr in these solid solutions seriously affect their chemical stabilities and the environmental risks posed by the final products. In this study, first the reaction behaviors of (AlxCr1-x)2O3 and (FexCr1-x)2O3 at high temperatures were analyzed and whether the incorpor
