Disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract are relatively common in rabbits. Survey radiographs and abdominal ultrasound have inherent limitations in the evaluation of the urinary tract in this species; because of that, contrast study modalities are a valuable diagnostic tool in rabbits with urinary disorders. PURPOSE: To retrospectively assess supranormal differential renal function (DRF) in unilateral hydronephrotic kidney by functional MR urography (fMRU).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The ethics committees granted exempt status for this study and also waived the need for informed consent. A retrospective analysis was performed of all patients undergoing fMRU from January 2008 to November 2011. DRF was measured by both the area under the curve method and Rutland-Patlak plot. Glomerular DRF per unit of volume and kidney volumes were analyzed. Kidney volumes were compared with nomograms.

To determine cost-effective guidelines for the follow-up of patients with superficial transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder (STCCAB), we reviewed clinical histories, pathology reports, and intravenous pyelography results in 84 patients with Stage Ta or T1 disease. A pilot study was done in 18 adults to assess the significance of ureteral dilatation having no apparent cause seen on Intravenous Urography (IVU). A clinicoradiological evaluation was undertaken to evaluate the cause of ureteral dilatation, including laboratory investigations and sonography of the genitourinary tract. The intravenous urography alone as a screening-test in renal and renovascular hypertension does not give the expected results. A technique is described how to improve and enlarge the sensitivity of the intravenous urography by rapid sequence films of the early arterial phase. By the opacification of the aorta and the renal arteries it is possible to detect a renovascular hypertension. Hexabrix is a well tolerated contrast medium, which because of its low osmolality is suitable for injection as a bolus.
