LRG1 Accelerates Wound Healing in Diabetic Rats by Promoting Angiogenesis via the Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling Pathway.

Patients with diabetic wounds may end with lower extremity amputation or death. Leucine-rich α-2-glycoprotein 1 (LRG1) is an effective regulator of angiogenesis and essential for timely wound healing. However, its role in regulating angiogenesis in diabetic wounds remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the pro-angiogenic function of exogenous LRG1 in diabetic wound healing and explore possible mechanisms. LRG1 expression patterns following injury in normal and diabetic wounds were determined by western blotting. Local injection of LRG1 was used to verify the effects on angiogenesis a

Argonaute 3 (AGO3) promotes malignancy potential of cervical cancer via regulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

We aimed to investigate the biological roles of Argonaute 3 (AGO3) in cervical cancer. RNA profiles containing 306 cervical cancer tissues and 13 normal samples revealed that AGO3 was significantly up-regulated in cervical cancer, and the expression of AGO3 was negatively associated with the outcome of cervical cancer patients. Cell proliferation and transwell assays showed that the depletion of AGO3 markedly inhibited cervical cancer cell growth and mobility. Importantly, we detected that knockdown of AGO3 exerted suppressive effect on cellular behaviors via inactivating Wnt/β-catenin signali

DVL mutations identified from human neural tube defects and Dandy-Walker malformation obstruct the Wnt signaling pathway.

Wnt signaling pathways, including the canonical Wnt/β-catenin pathway, planar cell polarity pathway, and Wnt/Ca2+ signaling pathway, play important roles in neural development during embryonic stages. The DVL genes encode the hub proteins for Wnt signaling pathways. The mutations in DVL2 and DVL3 were identified from patients with neural tube defects (NTDs), but their functions in the pathogenesis of human neural diseases remain elusive. Here, we sequenced the coding regions of three DVL genes in 176 stillborn or miscarried fetuses with NTDs or Dandy-Walker malformation (DWM) and 480 adult con

Neuroprotection of netrin-1 on neurological recovery via Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway after spinal cord injury.

The neuroprotective effects of netrin-1 after spinal cord injury and its specific molecular mechanisms have not been elucidated. In our study, Western blot, transferase UTP nick end labeling staining and immunofluorescence staining first showed that netrin-1 significantly decreased the expression levels of caspase-3, caspase-9, transferase UTP nick end labeling-positive neurons, nuclear factor kappa-B, and tumor necrosis factor-α after spinal cord injury, which inhibited neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory response. Using Nissl and HE staining, we also found that netrin-1 significantly increas
