Mild versus severe fatigue in polio survivors: special characteristics.

In studies conducted on polio survivors with late effects of poliomyelitis, new fatigue is frequently reported. The main purpose of the present study was to examine the characteristics of polio survivors reporting severe fatigue versus those reporting mild or no fatigue. From a survey among 276 representative Norwegian polio survivors, we recruited all patients with mild/no fatigue and those with severe fatigue, without other diseases than poliomyelitis. Out of 276 polio survivors, 43 reported mild, 113 moderate and 118 severe fatigue (2 were missing). Only 12 with mild fatigue, 21 with modera

Prevalence of Internet Addiction and Its Association With Lifestyle Factors Among University Students: A Pilot Study in Eastern India.

BACKGROUND: Internet addiction (IA), identified as compulsive use of the internet, is characterized by an individual's unwillingness to cease internet usage despite adverse impacts on their mental, physical, and psychological well-being. Recent studies reporting a high prevalence of IA among university students have also found an association of IA with factors such as academic performance, depression, obesity, substance abuse, unhealthy diet, and more. Among all the factors, lifestyle factors were the least explored. Hence, this study was carried out to find the prevalence of IA and its associ

METHODS: Online cross-sectional data (n = 4408) was collected during the Argentine quarantine, between 1st-17th April 2020 along a small replication study (n = 644). Psychological distress clusters were determined using latent profile analysis on

It is estimated that 5.4%-7.6% of primary care visits are associated with GAD and in addition to impairments in mental health there is additional impairment in pain, function, and activities of daily life, accelerating the need to reconsider the medical management of this disor

Therefore, the objective of the present study was to determine the profiles of the participants in terms of eating behaviors, eating disorder psychopathology, obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms and physical activity as well as check their association with ON. Key-in-session identity negotiations in a first line treatment for adult anorexia nervosa.

BACKGROUND: Exploration of client identity negotiations during treatment for Anorexia Nervosa (AN) is a relatively new area of research. Research suggests that difficulties with identity negotiations may present as a barrier to treatment. This study sought to explore individuals' identity negotiations during therapy sessions using Compulsive Exercise Activity Therapy (LEAP) combined with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (CBT-AN). Analysis focused on moments in therapy where individuals' identities were dominated or defined by AN and where alternative identities could be generat

Self-Reported Disordered Eating and Weight-Control Behaviours Across BMI Categories in Romanian Young Adults: A Cross-Sectional Online Convenience Survey.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Disordered eating behaviours are increasingly common among young adults, yet nutrition-focused, region-specific data from Romania and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) remain scarce. We characterised nutritional patterns, weight-control practices, disordered-eating indicators, body image, and psychosocial factors among Romanian young adults and tested how these differed across body mass index (BMI) categories. METHODS: In a cross-sectional online survey (March-April 2026), 753 Romanian adults aged 18-30 years (93.5% female) completed a 30-item questionnaire. Self-reporte

"Judging a body by its cover": young Lebanese-Canadian women's discursive constructions of the "Работает" body and "health" practices.

Our interest stems from the dramatic increase in the number of obesity studies, which expose Canadian women to a huge amount of information that links health to weight. Using feminist poststructuralist and postcolonial lenses, this paper investigates young Lebanese-Canadian women's constructions of the body and "health" practices within the context of the dominant obesity discourse. Participant-centered conversations were held with 20 young Christian Lebanese-Canadian women. A thematic analysis was first conducted and was followed by a poststructuralist discourse analysis to further our unders

This study aimed to (1) characterize the personality trait profiles and psychological symptom patterns of adolescent NPS users undergoing compulsory drug rehabilitation relative to normative standards; (2) identify empirically derived personality-based subgroups within this population; and (3) examine differential psychological symptom patterns acros
