Cytoskeletons in Sertoli cell play an important role in process of spermatogenesis. The expression and distribution of the intermediate filaments, vimentin, keratin and desmin, were studied in the Sertoli cells of the cryptorchid testis of rhesus monkey. Vimentin was localized in the perinuclear region of Sertoli cells of the normal testis. The mechanism of action of bronchial thermoplasty (BT) treatment for patients with severe asthma is incompletely understood. This study investigated the 2.5-year impact of BT on airway smooth muscle (ASM) mass and clinical parameters by paired data analysis in 22 patients. Our findings demonstrate the persistence of ASM mass reduction of >50% after 2.5 years. Furthermore, sustained improvement in asthma control, quality of life and exacerbation rates was found, which is in line with previous reports. Diagnostic criteria, biological behavior, and treatment approaches of leiomyosarcomas (LMS) may differ according to the origin of the tumor. This is important in terms of patient's management, especially in tumors located in the peritoneum and retroperitoneal sites. In our study, we aimed to demonstrate the immunophenotypic characteristics of uterine and extra-uterine LMS using a large antibody panel, and to determine whether they potentially play a role in the differences among these tumor groups. Between 2006 and 2018, 29 uterine and 42 extra-uterine primary LMS were included in this study.
