A Novel High-Strength Dental Resin Composite Based on BaSi2O2N2 for Caries Restoration.

Dental resin composite (DRC) is the most widely used restorative material for caries filling treatments. However, DRC has limitations, including incomplete curing and suboptimal mechanical properties, which restrict its clinical application. In this study, we combined the mechanoluminescent material BaSi2O2N2:Eu2+ (BSON) with DRC to create a novel DRC (BD) capable of emitting blue light under occlusal force. This study explored a resin composite with enhanced curing efficiency and improved mechanical properties. Characterization of the mechanical properties demonstrated that, as the BSON dopin

Optimization of 3-butenoic acid-modified polyalkenoic acid for enhanced glass ionomer cement performance.

OBJECTIVE: Glass ionomer cements (GICs) suffer from mechanical limitations due to rigid intermolecular hydrogen bonding in polyalkenoic acid (PCA) that impedes ionic cross-linking during setting. This study examined how molecular weight and solution concentration of modified polyalkenoic acid (PCA) containing 3-butenoic acid (VA) spacers at 8 mol% concentration (PCA-VA-8) influence comprehensive GIC performance. METHODS: PCA-VA-8 polymers with varying molecular weights (5.49 × 104 to 15.57 × 104) were synthesized via free radical copolymerization of acrylic acid, itaconic acid, and 3-butenoic

An Experimental Study on the Influence of Different Cooling Methods on the Mechanical Properties of PVA Fiber-Reinforced High-Strength Concrete after High-Temperature Action.

High-strength concrete (HSC) has a high compressive strength, high density, excellent durability, and seepage resistance, but its deformation ability is weak. Adding fibers can improve the physical and mechanical properties of HSC. Additionally, the HSC structure may face the threat of fire. In the process of fire extinguishing, the damage mechanism of high-temperature-resistant concrete is complicated due to the different contact conditions with water at different locations. Hence, it is essential to conduct pertinent research on the behavior of fiber-reinforced HSC with different cooling met

Synergistic Regulation of Waste Glass Powder and Aggregate Packing Structure for Sustainable Cement Mortar: Microstructural Mechanisms and XGBoost-PSO Intelligent Mix Design Optimization.

Waste glass powder (WGP) is a promising recycled constituent for sustainable cementitious materials, yet its effectiveness depends strongly on the packing characteristics of the fine-aggregate skeleton. This study investigates the coupled effects of WGP replacement ratio and fine-aggregate gradation on the mechanical performance and microstructural evolution of cement mortar. Five aggregate gradations and four WGP replacement levels (0%, 8%, 10%, and 12% by mass) were evaluated through compressive and flexural strength tests at 7, 14, and 28 days, yielding 180 prism specimens in total.
