A Two-Visit Pulpotomy Approach for the Management of Uncontrolled Bleeding in a Crown-Root Fractured Immature Incisor: A Case Report.

Background/Objective: The present case demonstrates the successful preservation of a severely inflamed dental pulp despite uncontrolled bleeding occurring during pulpotomy. This novel therapeutic approach was developed when a 7-year-old boy presented for endodontic treatment one week after sustaining a crown-root fracture in an immature incisor. The tooth exhibited slight hypersensitivity to cold testing, with no tenderness to percussion or palpation. An exposed pulp was present; however, when he could avoid contact with the exposed pulp tissue, the patient reported no symptoms. Methods: The c

Intraoperative Identification of Vital Radicular Pulp in a Tooth Diagnosed with Pulp Necrosis: Four-Year Outcome of Tampon Pulpotomy.

Teeth diagnosed clinically with pulp necrosis and apical periodontitis may occasionally retain vital radicular pulp tissue despite negative sensibility test responses. Such diagnostic discrepancies highlight the limitations of conventional pulp testing and may create opportunities for biologically based treatment approaches. This case report describes the successful management of a mature permanent molar initially diagnosed as necrotic but found intraoperatively to contain vital radicular pulp tissue. A 36-year-old healthy patient presented with pain on chewing and tenderness to percussion in

A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial Comparing Clinical and Radiographic Success Rates of MTA and rhBMP2 in Pulpotomy of Primary Teeth.

Objectives: In an ideal pulpotomy, the radicular pulp remains vital, healthy, and fully encased within an odontoblastic layer. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) have been suggested to facilitate this outcome. We aimed to compare the clinical and radiographic failure and success rates of MTA and rhBMP2 as pulpotomy medicaments. Materials and Methods: Sixty-eight teeth from 3-6-year-old children were randomly assigned to two groups using a split-mouth design. Cervical pulpotomy was performed using MTA in one group and rhBMP2 in the other. Subsequently, the t
