[Robotic Surgery Reaching a New Stage:Advances in Vascular and Bronchial Reconstruction].

Thoracotomy is still frequently selected for vascular and bronchial reconstruction. However, if these procedures can be safely performed using a minimally invasive approach, patients may benefit greatly through accelerated postoperative recovery. In this study, we reviewed the perioperative outcomes of robotic vascular and bronchial reconstruction performed at our department( March 2024 to July 2025:one case of vascular and bronchial reconstruction and seven cases of bronchoplasty) and compared them with those of thoracotomy cases( November 2012 to July 2025, 53 cases) to evaluate the feasibil

Current status of robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy: what is the real benefit?

Robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy (RAMIE) for esophageal cancer has been performed increasingly frequently over the last few years. Robotic systems with articulated devices and tremor filtration allow surgeons to perform such procedures more meticulously than by hand. The feasibility of RAMIE has been demonstrated in several retrospective comparative studies, which showed similar short-term outcomes to conventional minimally invasive esophagectomy (cMIE). Considering the number of harvested lymph nodes, RAMIE may be superior to cMIE in terms of left upper mediastinal lymph node d

Robot-Assisted Oesophagectomy: Recommendations Towards a Standardised Ivor Lewis Procedure.

A considerable number of reports have been published on the feasibility, techniques, and early postoperative results of robotic-assisted oesophageal surgery. However, these are mostly smaller case series, suggesting that the robot-assisted Ivor Lewis procedure is still in the implementation phase and far from being standardised. Oesophageal surgeons from seven robotic university centres in Germany, experienced in both minimally invasive and robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery, took part in a workshop on robot-assisted surgery. An intensive exchange of opinions and experiences, followed b

Embodied artificial intelligence in robotic orthopaedic surgery: from intelligent assistance to adaptive surgical autonomy.

Despite remarkable advances in robotic orthopaedic surgery over the past three decades, current commercial platforms remain precision-assistance technologies rather than truly adaptive intelligent systems. Embodied Artificial Intelligence (Embodied AI) represents a paradigm shift by enabling robots to perceive, reason, learn, and interact continuously with their physical environment through integrated perception-action loops. This structured narrative review examines the emerging role of Embodied AI in orthopaedic robotic surgery, highlights its conceptual differences from existing platforms,
