Predictors of Asylum Seekers' Health Care Utilization in the Early Phase of Resettlement.

BACKGROUND: Asylum seekers display high prevalence rates of posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and panic disorder due to pre-, peri-, and post-migration stressors. In contrast to the high mental health burden, health care utilization among asylum seekers in the early phase of resettlement is low. However, the early stages after migration are a particularly vulnerable phase in which psychosocial support measures are needed to prevent mental disorders from becoming chronic. OBJECTIVE: To identify predictors of asylum seekers' health care utilization in the early stages of reset

Hardware-efficient phase noise compensation for km-scale and mm-level resolution OFDR.

We demonstrate a hardware-efficient, linewidth-tolerant OFDR system that eliminates the need for an independent auxiliary receiver and a high hardware sampling rate. Using a multiplexed delay configuration, a single integrated coherent receiver simultaneously captures the laser phase noise reference and sensing signal. By introducing an upsampling process in the phase noise compensation algorithm, the unnecessary sampling rate overhead in the experiment is avoided. Finally, using a 200 kHz linewidth laser, the system achieves a 1.5 mm spatial resolution over a 1.9 km fiber, proving its high pr

Multiplex developmental disorders. The role of communication in the construction of a self.

This article discusses the integration of various aspects of the child's development, particularly the development of language and communication and the way in which these developments interact to enable the child to construct a coherent sense of self. Multiplex developmental disorder is presented as an example of a disorder that affects several of these crucial strands of development. Recent research and controversies regarding the diagnostic descriptions of multiplex and other pervasive developmental disorders are presented. This discussion is used to illustrate the ways in which such disord

Experimental Observation of Spin Defects in the van der Waals Material GeS2.

Spin defects in atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) materials are promising for quantum applications, particularly quantum sensing. The long coherence times of the spin defects enable high sensitivity in measurements of the fluctuations of the targeted physical parameters. However, the nuclear-spin bath remains a major source of decoherence. Here, we reveal the presence of optically addressable spin defects in germanium disulfide (β-GeS2) characterized by a wide bandgap and potential nuclear-spin-free lattice. Coherent control of the spin defects has been successfully demonstrated, and the co

Snapshot compressive imaging using aberrations.

Based on compressed sensing, snapshot compressive imaging aims to optically compress high resolution images using low resolution detectors. The challenge is the generation of the simultaneous optical projections that can fulfill compressed sensing reconstruction requirements. We propose the use of aberrations to produce point spread functions that can simultaneously code and multiplex partial parts the scene. We explore different Zernike modes and analyze the corresponding coherence parameter. Simulation and experimental reconstruction results from 16X compressed measurements of natively spars

Mentalization-Based Treatment for Adolescents (MBT-A).

In this article we describe the structure and technique of mentalization-based therapy for adolescents (MBT-A), an evidence-based intervention that has shown effectiveness in helping young people with self-harm, borderline personality, and depression. We describe also the differences between MBT with adults and MBT-A, which primarily focuses on the developmental aspects of adolescence. The developmental trajectory of adolescence culminates in a coherent and consolidated sense of self. Mentalizing provides the main supporting socio-cognitive-emotional process for achieving a coherent sense of s

Time since vertebral fracture: an important variable concerning quality of life in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis.

The aim of the study was to identify factors affecting patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis who had experienced one or more vertebral fractures. The overall hypothesis was that time after fracture would influence patients' perception of pain and well-being. The sample (50 patients) was split into two groups (group A, time after fracture < or > 24 months; group B, time after fracture >24 months). A fracture was defined as a vertebral height reduction of more than 20% or at least 4 mm. The assessment was carried out using the Spine Deformity Index and was confirmed by an experienced radiolo

Hard X-ray ptychography for optics characterization using a partially coherent synchrotron source.

Ptychography is a scanning coherent diffraction imaging technique which provides high resolution imaging and complete spatial information of the complex electric field probe and sample transmission function. Its ability to accurately determine the illumination probe has led to its use at modern synchrotrons and free-electron lasers as a wavefront-sensing technique for optics alignment, monitoring and correction. Recent developments in the ptychography reconstruction process now incorporate a modal decomposition of the illuminating probe and relax the restriction of using sources with high spat
