Perirenal hemangiomas are rare benign vascular tumors that can present as indeterminate retroperitoneal masses and mimic renal, adrenal, or soft-tissue malignancy. We report the case of a 60-year-old woman who was incidentally found to have a right perirenal mass adjacent to the kidney and adrenal gland. The principal causes of death among 68,555 patients with diabetes and 164,621 patients without diabetes who died in 208 hospitals throughout Japan between 2011 and 2020 were determined based on a survey of hospital records. Parotid swelling in a child can represent any of a variety of pathologies, including lymphadenitis, autoimmune disorders, other inflammatory conditions, vascular malformations, or neoplasms. Parotitis is usually infectious in etiology and is generally treated with antibiotics and supportive management. We report a case of a child with recurrent idiopathic pneumoparotitis, and a review of literature and the disease process is provided.

In this short review, malignant mesenchymal neoplasms of the dermis and subcutis mimicking benign lesions and their differential diagnoses are discussed. These include plaque-like dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, superficial low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, low-grade superficial malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumour, epithelioid sarcoma, pseudomyogenic haemangioendothelioma, Kaposi sarcoma mimicking cavernous haemangioma and benign lymphangioendothelioma, and rare forms of angiosarcoma mimicking a benign vascular lesion.

Hemangiopericytomas are uncommon neoplasms of vascular origin, and rarely arise in the pharynx. We report a case of a 78-year-old female with hemangiopericytoma in her soft palate exhibiting prominent radiosensitivity. Hemangiopericytomas are considered to be radioresistant and wide local excision is a treatment of choice, but their nature is widely variable. In treating aggressive hemangiopericytomas, radiation therapy can be selected.

Hemangiopericytomas are uncommon vascular neoplasms with rare occurrence in the head and neck region. They originate from the pericytes, which are small, oval cells encircling capillaries. Hemangiopericytomas traditionally appear in the retroperitoneum and in the capillaries of the extremities. A case of hemangiopericytoma of the parotid gland is presented. The clinical, surgical, histologic, and radiologic features are described and discussed.

The fibrous tumors of the pleura are rare primary tumors, accounting for 5% of malignant pleural neoplasms, which generally originate from sub-mesothelial mesenchymal tissue of the visceral pleura. Myopericytoma is a low grade spindle cell neoplasm largely occurring in skin. We describe the first reported case of a penile myopericytoma. Histologically, the penile tumor was composed of a perivascular proliferation of tumor cells with ovoid shaped nuclei and abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. Immunohistochemically, the tumor was reactive for markers of smooth muscle differentiation and vascular differentiation. Vascular tumours of the stomach are rare, representing 0.9%-3.3% of all gastric neoplasms. A 58 year old man was admitted as an emergency with a one day history of haematemesis and melaena. He underwent an emergency laparotomy for a tumour in the lesser curve of the stomach. The tumour showed the characteristic histological and immunohistochemical features of epithelioid haemangioendothelioma. A capillary-cavernous hemangioma in an obturator lymph node was found incidentally in a 64 year-old woman who had undergone unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and lymphadenectomy for an ovarian neoplasm. Vascular tumors of lymph nodes are briefly reviewed including eight previously described nodal capillary-cavernous hemangiomas. The association with other splanchnic hemangiomas is pointed out and the likelihood that the lesion is a hamartoma rather than a true neoplasm is addressed.
