This study aimed to investigate the clinical features and potential pathogenesis of lymphoma complicated with malignant solid tumors. Clinical data from 35 patients treated at Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital between January 2018 and March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Among 1726 lymphoma patients, 35 (2.03%) were found to have solid tumors, including 22 males and 13 females, with a median age of 62 years (range: 49-83 years). Combination chemotherapy is the current strategy of choice for treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Lactic acidosis is common in the ICU, but malignancy-associated type B lactic acidosis mediated by the clinical Warburg effect (CWE) is uncommon and easily missed when infection or organ dysfunction dominates the presentation. We report a 35-year-old man with a month of fever and progressive dyspnea who presented with persistent hyperlactatemia (peak 15.46 mmol/L) and markedly elevated LDH despite stable hemodynamics. Imaging revealed generalized lymphadenopathy, multifocal osteolytic lesions, and bilateral pleural effusions; infectious studies were unrevealing apart from chronic hepatitis B.

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a common side effect of typical chemotherapeutics among cancer survivors. Despite the recent progress, the effective prevention and treatment strategies for CIPN remain limited. Better understanding of the pathogenesis of CIPN may provide new niches for developing a new ideal therapeutic strategy. This review summarizes the current understanding of CIPN and current recommendations along with completed/active clinical trials and aims to foster translational research to improve the development of effective strategies for managing CIPN.
