Co-Design of a Registry-Based Tailored Follow-up Service Intervention for People Living With Stroke: A Multiple Method Consensus Approach.

BACKGROUND: Often people experience ongoing health challenges after stroke. The Australian Stroke Clinical Registry collects patient-reported outcomes after stroke. Many patients report challenges that are potentially addressable through additional support. AIMS: To co-design a registry-based, hospital-initiated, follow-up service for people who report major health-related challenges between 90 and 180 days after their stroke. METHODS: Iterative, consensus-based methods were used to co-design a follow-up service intervention including eligibility criteria, clinical protocol (consultation/com

Intelligent Dance Motion Evaluation: An Evaluation Method Based on Keyframe Acquisition According to Musical Beat Features.

Motion perception is crucial in competitive sports like dance, basketball, and diving. However, evaluations in these sports heavily rely on professionals, posing two main challenges: subjective assessments are uncertain and can be influenced by experience, making it hard to guarantee timeliness and accuracy, and increasing labor costs with multi-expert voting. While video analysis methods have alleviated some pressure, challenges remain in extracting key points/frames from videos and constructing a suitable, quantifiable evaluation method that aligns with the static-dynamic nature of movements

A screening test proposal for congenital defects based on maternal serum metabolomics profile.

BACKGROUND: Historically, noninvasive techniques are only able to identify chromosomal anomalies that accounted for <50% of all congenital defects; the other congenital defects are diagnosed via ultrasound evaluations in the later stages of pregnancy. Metabolomic analysis may provide an important improvement, potentially addressing the need for novel noninvasive and multicomprehensive early prenatal screening tools. A growing body of evidence outlines notable metabolic alterations in different biofluids derived from pregnant women carrying fetuses with malformations, suggesting that such an ap

Development and validation of interpretable multimodal clinical-radiomics models for predicting epileptogenic foci and surgical outcomes in tuberous sclerosis complex: A multicenter study.

Precise localization and resection of epileptogenic (epi) foci from multiple cortical foci determine surgical outcomes in the tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Although the use of intracranial electroencephalography (EEG) for detecting epileptic discharges remains the gold standard for identifying epi foci, its invasiveness and cost limit clinical application. We aimed to develop and validate a noninvasive, clinically applicable predictive model for epi foci identification and surgical outcome assessment in patients with TSC. This multicenter study focused on three retrospective cohorts and on

Principles for Responsible AI in Health Professions Education, Research, and Care: Health CARE-AI (Contextual, Accountable, Responsible, and Equitable Artificial Intelligence) Framework Delphi Consensus Study.

BACKGROUND: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly integrating into health professions education and clinical practice, creating significant opportunities alongside new ethical challenges. Although current international and professional guidance establishes essential values, it offers limited direction for how clinicians, educators, learners, and institutions should act in routine educational, research, and clinical contexts. The CARE-AI (Contextual, Accountable, Responsible, and Equitable Artificial Intelligence) project responds to this practice-level gap by articulating guidance that moves

To adopt or adapt an existing COS for neonatal research: qualitative study.

BACKGROUND: Core outcome sets (COS) standardise the outcomes reported in clinical trials and research, reducing outcome heterogeneity and enabling evidence synthesis. Most neonatal COS have been developed in high-income country (HIC) contexts and may not reflect the priorities, health system capacities, or disease burden of low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Kenya's neonatal mortality rate remains high at 21 per 1000 live births, yet no COS exists for neonatal care and research in Kenya or, more broadly, in sub-Saharan Africa. This study aimed to develop a contextually appropriate COS f

Navigating the patient journey in migraine prevention: An American Migraine Foundation position paper.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to understand the factors limiting access to medications for the preventive treatment of migraine and to improve access to evidence-based preventive care. BACKGROUND: For decades, the effective use of medication for the preventive treatment of migraine was limited by slow onset, slow and complex dose titration schedules, modest benefits, drug interactions, frequent side effects, and very low long-term adherence. The calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) targeted preventive medications mitigate some of these limitations and demonstrated substantial therapeutic bene

[Core techniques and adverse events in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using a new generation of artificial ligaments: the consensus of Chinese specialists based on a modified Delphi method (Part 2)].

OBJECTIVE: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using a new generation of artificial ligaments (NGAL) gained popularity in China owing to its good effectiveness and early functional recovery, but iatrogenic surgical failures and preconceived misconceptions have seriously affected its standardized clinical application. A specialist consensus is now developed to provide guidance and reference for orthopaedic sports medicine doctors when adopting or considering the NGAL for ACL reconstruction. METHODS: The consensus on the core techniques and adverse events in ACL reconstruction using

Italian guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of functional dyspepsia - joint consensus from the Italian societies of gastroenterology and endoscopy (SIGE), Neurogastroenterology and motility (SINGEM), hospital gastroenterologists and endoscopists (AIGO), digestive endoscopy (SIED) and general medicine (SIMG).

Functional dyspepsia (FD) is one of the most prevalent disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Despite its broad prevalence, FD diagnosis and treatment are still not well standardized. The aim of this project was to outline an Italian Guideline to define a standardized approach in terms of diagnostic and therapeutic work-up to support both general practitioners and specialists in Gastroenterology. To address this issue, experts from 5 Italian Societies conducted a Delphi consensus process, which included a review of the current literature and voting process on 24 key statements. Recomme

Co-design of an Electronic Dashboard to Support the Coproduction of Care in Pediatric Rheumatic Disease: Human-Centered Design and Usability Testing.

BACKGROUND: The coproduction of care involves patients and families partnering with their clinicians and care teams, with the premise that each brings their own perspective, knowledge, and expertise, as well as their own values, goals, and preferences, to the partnership. Dashboards can display meaningful patient and clinical data to assess how a patient is doing and inform shared decision-making. Increasing communication between patients and care teams is particularly important for children with chronic conditions. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), the most common chronic pediatric rheumat

Use of Bone Marrow Concentrate to Treat Pain and Musculoskeletal Disorders: An Academic Delphi Investigation.

BACKGROUND: Acute and degenerative musculoskeletal disorders are among the most common etiologies of disability worldwide. Recently, there has been interest in the field of regenerative medicine to bridge the gap between conservative and surgical management of these conditions. Autologous bone marrow concentrate is one type of injectate that has increased in popularity over the last few decades. Though there is promising evidence supporting its efficacy, standard of care practice guidelines to govern the appropriate use and implementation of such technology are currently lacking. OBJECTIVES:

An annotated dataset of Building Management System periodic alarms.

This article presents alarm events data collected from 22 Building Management Systems (BMS) from 9 countries (mainly European) and 7 market segments (Commercial, Education, Entertainment, Government, Healthcare, Residential, Transport) over a period of 1 month. 321 alarm event timeseries were collected. Each series corresponds to a single (unknown) user-defined alarm rule switching from "inactive" (reset) to "active" (alarm) state and back. Such a rule usually consists in a simple upper or lower threshold applied to an observed variable such as a room temperature sensor, a valve pressure, etc.

How Should Hip Instability Be Clinically Diagnosed? Consensus Statements From a Scoping Review and an International Multidisciplinary Delphi Study.

BACKGROUND: Although several clinical signs have been proposed for diagnosing atraumatic hip instability, the condition remains poorly defined because of the absence of standardized diagnostic criteria. To address this gap, a Delphi consensus study with an international panel of experts to establish standardized clinical statements for the diagnostic criteria of hip instability was conducted. QUESTIONS/PURPOSES: The objective was to reach consensus on the following questions: (1) What are typical presenting symptoms of hip instability? (2) What physical examination should be used to assess hi

Controlling respiratory infections in long-term care facilities: A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Residents of long-term care facilities are vulnerable to respiratory infections, yet infection prevention and control strategies for these settings remain limited. While extensive infection control guidelines for hospitals are well established, few address long-term care facilities, where prevention efforts have largely prioritized pharmacological over non-pharmacological measures. Non-pharmacological strategies are therefore essential to prevent respiratory infection transmission, particularly during early outbreak stages or in settings where pathogen-specific treatments are limit
