PURPOSE: The endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) has been suggested as an alternative to conventional aortic reconstruction. The presence of anomalous renal vascular anatomy frequently necessitates special planning during conventional aortic replacement and may also create unique challenges for endovascular repair. We analyzed our experience with 24 patients with variant renal vascular anatomies who underwent treatment with aortic endografts to determine the safety and efficacy of this technique in this population.
METHODS: During a 6-year period, 204 patients underwent a

PURPOSE: To evaluate the value of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) combined with the iterative metal artifact reduction (iMAR) for postoperative endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) CT angiography (CTA) surveillance.
METHODS: In this prospective study, post-EVAR CTA surveillance was performed using a Siemens Force CT (100/150 kVp dual-energy). Images were reconstructed as conventional mixed and 40-190 keV virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs), with and without iMAR. Image quality was assessed via quantitative parameters and 5-point subjective scores, with clinical data and radiation dose rec

BACKGROUND: Endovascular treatment of aortic diseases with complex anatomy may require an additional upper extremity arterial access (like axillary access) for support during aortic navigation and allowing the use of larger sheaths for thoracoabdominal antegrade access. The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety of the open axillary approach as adjuvant access in complex thoracoabdominal aortic endovascular interventions.
METHODS: A monocentric retrospective study was performed, including all patients with a complex aortic endovascular procedure (fEVAR, bEVAR, chEVAR or TEVAR), ele

OBJECTIVE: We evaluated whether a combination of intraoperative contrast-enhanced cone beam computed tomography (ceCBCT) and postoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) after infrarenal endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) could reduce late stent graft-related complications and, consequently, reintervention.
METHODS: All consecutive patients who had received infrarenal bifurcated stent grafts in our hybrid room (IGS 730; GE Healthcare, Île-de-France, France) during two discrete periods were included in the present study. From November 2012 to September 2013, two-dimensio

PURPOSE: The optimal treatment for isolated abdominal aortic dissection (IAAD) is currently unknown. We compared the effects of straight and bifurcated aortic stent grafts on postoperative aortic remodeling in patients with IAAD.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: From February 2012 to December 2019, 57 patients with IAAD were treated using endovascular methods, including either a bifurcated or a straight aortic stent graft. The clinical features, risk factors, computed tomography angiograms, midterm follow-up results, and aortic remodeling of these patients were reviewed and analyzed.
RESULTS: In total

BACKGROUND: Reconstruction of the aortic major branches during thoracic endovascular aortic repair is complicated because of the complex anatomic configuration and variation of the aortic arch. In situ laser fenestration has shown great potential for the revascularization of aortic branches. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of in situ laser fenestration on the three branches of the aortic arch during thoracic endovascular aortic repair.
METHODS AND RESULTS: Before clinical application, the polytetrafluoroethylene and Dacron grafts were fenestrated by an 8

BACKGROUND: The management of the left subclavian artery when coverage is necessary during thoracic aorta endografting remains a matter of debate.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of a single-centre experience with thoracic endovascular aorta repair (TEVAR) was performed. Between April 2004 and October 2012, 125 cases of TEVAR were performed. The analysis focused on patients who required coverage of the left subclavian artery (LSA). We analysed mortality and morbidity with special attention to the rates of cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs) and spinal cord ischaemia (SCI) in the

AIM: Para-anastomotic aneurysms, leakage due to anastomotic failure, aorto- and arterioenteric fistulas are some of the serious complications after aorto-iliac surgical reconstructions. Treatment of these complications is challenging and is either done by open surgery or by endovascular therapy. The mortality and morbidity is higher compared to the initial treatment. We present twelve patients with these complications which were treated by an endovascular approach.
METHODS: From January 2008 through January 2013 our radiological records were searched for cases with post surgical vascular comp

OBJECTIVE: Repair of patients with extent I and II thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAAs) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, whereas repair of more distal extent III and IV TAAAs has a lower risk of paraplegia and death. Therefore, we describe an approach using thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) as the index operation to convert extent I and II TAAAs to extent III and IV TAAAs amenable to subsequent open aortic repair to minimize patient risk.
METHODS: Between July 2007 and March 2012, 10 staged hybrid operations were performed to treat one extent I and nine

BACKGROUND: Physical exercise is known to enhance vascular function by regulating PPARs, ERs, and RXR signaling pathways. It improves cardiopulmonary capacity through optimized lipid metabolism, immune regulation, and blood pressure reduction. Additionally, exercise reduces postoperative complications by maintaining energy expenditure and skeletal muscle function, which may ultimately improve patients' quality of life (QoL). However, the safety and efficacy of exercise therapy post-endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) remain uncertain. Due to the potential impact of exercise training on
