The present study examined potential effects of seasonal variations in photoreactive dissolved organic matter (DOM) on methylmercury (MeHg) photodemethylation rates in freshwaters. A series of controlled experiments was carried out using natural and photochemically preconditioned DOM in water collected from 1 lake in June, August, and October. The present study was to evaluate the hepatotoxicity effects in mice exposed to copper (Cu) used as dietary supplements for 95 days. Chelex-100, Dowex 50W-x8 and Dowex MAC-3 exchange resins were investigated for separation and pre-concentration of trace amounts of Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, Ti and Zn in alcohols with respect to retention and desorption characteristics. Dowex 50W-x8 was found to be the best sorbent with percentages recoveries >95%. CdTe film was deposited using the electrophoretic deposition technique onto an ITO glass at various bath temperatures. Four batch film compositions were used by mixing 1 to 4 wt% concentration of CdTe powder with 10 mL of a solution of methanol and toluene. Switzerland has recorded the level of activity of 90Sr in the milk teeth of children from different regions of the country since the first atomic explosions in the atmosphere. Activity peaked at 0.421 Bq g-1 Ca at the beginning of the sixties, coinciding with the detonation of many large nuclear devices. Iron is an essential trace element and it is well known that the iron requirement steadily increase during pregnancy. The aim of this investigation was to compare the serum iron levels in normal and serotine pregnancy.
