An episode of supraventricular tachycardia occurred in an infant born at 31 weeks' gestation after three days of therapy with theophylline 3.5 mg/kg every six hours. The infant had a plasma theophylline half-life of 24.7 hours and a low plasma theophylline clearance of 12.7 ml/kg/hour. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a tick-borne viral hemorrhagic fever caused by Nairovirus and characterized by fever, myalgia, arthralgia, and hemorrhagic manifestations. Severe bradycardia is a rare complication of the disease. We present a 30-year-old male patient with CCHF who developed severe bradycardia, which was successfully treated with intravenous and oral theophylline. This case highlights the need to recognize cardiac complications in CCHF and highlights the role of pharmacological interventions in improving patient outcomes.

Sleep apnoea (SA) has a prevalence of 1-10% in men. The physiological sleep is disturbed. SA is associated with cardiopulmonary disease (systemic arterial hypertension, cardiac arrhythmics, cor pulmonale) and the quality of the patient's life is reduced. Thirty male patients participated in a study to investigate the influence of an oral dose of theophylline on sleep apnoea.
