INTRODUCTION: Nail changes are frequent in psoriasis, and the negative impact of nail psoriasis on patients' quality of life is well known. No data are available however about the association of the objective severity of nail psoriasis and the subjective perception of these symptoms. This article describes an esthetic rehabilitation of a case of severe fluorosis associated with tooth mobility and gingival recession. Direct composite technique was applied to improve the color, shape and alignment of the teeth using direct composite veneering and replacement of the missing tooth by fiber-reinforced composite bridge. BACKGROUND: Traumatic amputation of fingers results in a serious impairment of hand function and affects the psychological status of the patients. The implant-retained finger prostheses are an alternative treatment. The aim of this case report is to represent the use of osseointegrated implants for retention of finger prostheses in a patient with amputated thumb and index finger.
CASE DESCRIPTION AND METHODS: Dental implants were placed in the residual bone of the fingers using two-stage surgery. Custom-made attachments were used to provide retention between implants and silicone prostheses.

A gummy smile poses a restorative challenge for dentists attempting to achieve ideal esthetics. Many have advocated the use of a gingivectomy or laser-assisted gingival contouring procedure. However, this simplistic approach can potentially create a mucogingival defect or a biological width violation. To avoid these periodontal-restorative complications, it is important during treatment planning to assess the anatomical relationship that resulted in the gummy smile and choose the appropriate surgical treatment to eliminate this condition.

Cicatricial pemphigoid is one of a number of mucocutaneous disorders that can present in the oral cavity with desquamation, pain, and bleeding of the gingiva and oral mucosa. This case report describes the management of cicatricial pemphigoid in a patient with multiple sites of gingival recession using connective tissue grafting to alleviate root surface sensitivity and improve esthetics. The treatment rationale is presented and discussed in terms of timing of therapy and implications for wound healing in patients who present with desquamative gingivitis.
