Pyrazolone drug hypersensitivity (PDH) may manifest as angioedema, urticaria, and/or life threatening anaphylactic shock. Although it has been suggested that PDH is an immunologic, probably IgE-mediated reaction, the diagnosis of PDH is still based on clinical history because there is no reliable in vitro diagnostic method currently used in clinical practice. In 1985-90, 1612 subjects were submitted to allergic tests for respiratory diseases. In a retrospective survey we have evaluated clinical features, symptoms, diagnostic procedure and allergic tests of skin positives and skin negatives. Prick tests were supplemented by intradermal reaction and RAST under guideline of history. BACKGROUND: Paclitaxel is a chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of multiple types of malignant tumors which was discovered from the Taxus brevofilia tree. Five mares and a stallion were studied from three to 30 months after experimental infection with Brucella abortus strain 544. The mares bred normally. No organisms were recovered from horses or from pregnant Friesian heifer contacts. Titres of serum antibody in the antiglobulin (Coombs) and complement fixation tests fell more slowly than those assessed by other tests. The serum of one foal yielded maternal antibody. An intradermal test was positive in infected adults only, and negative in all foals.

When guinea pigs were sensitized to tuberculin by exposure to complete Freund's adjuvant the size of the intradermal PPD test was positively correlated to the body weight of the animal. Old Tuberculin showed stimulating effect in a subsequent sensitization to merthiolate (thimerosal). The high frequency of delayed cutaneous allergy to merthiolate in Swedish population is probably explained by sensitization through intradermal testing with tuberculin containing merthiolate as a preservative.

A cosmetically acceptable lotion containing a silicone protectant, a keratolytic, a bacteriocidal agent and antipruritic substances, was clinically tested in 208 persons with various dermatoses.Twenty-four-hour closed patch tests on humans and intradermal tests in laboratory animals indicate the lotion not to be a sensitizer. OBJECTIVE: Eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis (ECRS) is frequently complicated by asthma, and recognized as refractory and persistent rhinosinusitis. Swine brucellosis caused by Brucella suis biovar 2 is an emerging disease in Europe. We have studied the diagnostic reliability of the specific skin tests done in 30 subjects who presented with chronic bronchitis (CB) as the only clinical manifestation related to exposure to pigeons and in 21 subjects with CB and known risk factors. In evaluating adverse drug reactions (ADRs), patch tests (PTs), skin prick tests (SPTs), and intradermal tests (IDTs) are useful tools for identifying responsible drugs and finding safe alternatives. Non-opioid analgesics, antipyretics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are widely used, but suspected allergic reactions to these drugs are rare, especially in children. The authors studied 100 patients who had been exposed to toxic molds in their homes. The predominant molds identified were Alternaria, Cladosporium, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Stachybotrys, Curvularia, Basidiomycetes, Myxomycetes, smuts, Epicoccus, Fusarium, Bipolaris, and Rhizopus. Glatiramer acetate (GA) is a synthetic amino acid polymer, used for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
