Plant microbial fuel cells (PMFCs) has important value for soil remediation and power generation. To improve the performance of PMFCs, a PMFC experimental system was established based on potted scindapsus aureus. Polyaniline (PANI) and sodium alginate (SA) were used as modifiers to prepare PANI-SA modified carbon felt anode. We assessed the life satisfaction and related factors, including the mental health state, of residents of Kawauchi village, Fukushima Prefecture. Among the 374 residents who responded, 237 (63.4%) were satisfied with their current life. To study the effect of ionizing radiation on thyroid glands, 66 Japanese Black cattle residing in the restricted area of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in 2013-2017 were pathologically examined.
