Effectiveness of Local Use of Green Propolis-Loaded Lipid Nanoparticles as Adjuvant Therapy to Scaling and Root Planing in the Management of Periodontitis in Rats Treated with Zoledronate.

This study assessed the effectiveness of the local use of green propolis-loaded lipid nanoparticles (GPlnp) as an adjuvant therapy to scaling and root planing (SRP) to manage experimental periodontitis (EP) in ovariectomized rats treated with zoledronate. Ten weeks before the experiment, 48 female rats were ovariectomized. On day 0, a ligature was installed in the lower first molar to induce EP. From day 0 to day 42, half of the rats were treated with vehicle (VEH), while the other half were treated with 100μg/Kg of zoledronate (ZOL). On day 14, the rats were allocated into the following group

Functional Assessment of Lumbar Nerve Roots Using Coronal-plane Single-shot Turbo Spin-echo Diffusion Tensor Imaging.

We investigated the usefulness of diffusion tensor imaging using single-shot turbo spin-echo sequence (TSE-DTI) in detecting the responsible nerve root by multipoint measurements of fractional anisotropy (FA) values. Five patients with bilateral lumbar spinal stenosis showing unilateral neurological symptoms were examined using TSE-DTI. In the spinal canal, FA values in the symptomatic side were lower than those in the asymptomatic side. TSE-DTI using multipoint measurements of FA values can differentiate the responsible lumbar nerve root.

Comparative Evaluation of Subgingivally Delivered Tetracycline Fibers and Aloe Vera Gel as an Adjunct to Scaling and Root Planing in Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

INTRODUCTION: Comprehensive mechanical debridement, like scaling and root planing (SRP), combined with proper plaque control, is the primary nonsurgical approach for managing periodontitis. However, it may not always eliminate infection due to inadequate debridement or inaccessible areas. For this, various chemotherapeutic allopathic and herbal local drug delivery (LDD) agents as adjuvants have been used with SRP for management of chronic periodontitis. METHODOLOGY: A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted, comprising 60 sites from 20 patients. Each patient received three treatmen
