INTRODUCTION: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is more aggressive when diagnosed in childhood, and its incidence continues to rise. Premature adrenarche (PA) is often considered benign; however, emerging data suggest a complex interplay among subsequent hyperandrogenism, obesity, and insulin resistance.
