Biosynthesized Fe- and Ag-doped ZnO nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Clitoria ternatea Linn for enhancement of sonocatalytic degradation of Congo red.

Nowadays, the current synthesis techniques used in industrial production of nanoparticles have been generally regarded as nonenvironmentally friendly. Consequently, the biosynthesis approach has been proposed as an alternative to reduce the usage of hazardous chemical compounds and harsh reaction conditions in the production of nanoparticles. In this work, pure, iron (Fe)-doped and silver (Ag)-doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized through the green route using Clitoria ternatea Linn. The optical, chemical, and physical properties of the biosynthesized ZnO nanoparti

Theoretical and experimental study of the diastereoisomers (2S) and (2R)-naringenin-6-C-β-D-glucopyranoside obtained from Clitoria guianensis.

In this work the diastereoisomers (2S) and (2R)-naringenin-6-C-β-D-glucopyroside, isolated for the first time from Clitoria guianensis, were studied using the density functional theory. The frontier molecular orbitals and structural properties showed that the diastereoisomers exhibit the same energy gap 166.61 kcal mol-1 and structural properties different, where in the S diastereoisomer, the bond length between the chiral carbon and the phenolic group is greater (difference of 0.0126 Å). The HPLC data showed that the retention time of the S-diastereoisomer (16.7 min) is shorter than that of R

A Novel Functional Ingredient Derived From a Mixture of Mulberry (Morus alba L.) Leaves and Butterfly Pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) Flowers Enhances Rapid Eye Movement Sleep, Cognitive Function, and Anxiolytic Behavior via GABAA Receptor-Dependent Mechanism in Rats.

The neuropharmacological benefits for sleep quality and mental health from the extracts of Morus alba L. leaves (MA) and Clitoria ternatea L. flowers (CT) have been revealed previously. However, due to synergistic interactions of polyherbal ingredients, the positive effects of MA mixed with CT are still controversial. Preliminary outcomes from in vitro assessment exposed that a 3:1 ratio of MA:CT (MACT) yielded the highest antioxidant capacity and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-promoting activity among seven combination ratios: 0MA:1CT, 1MA:0CT, 1MA:1CT, 1MA:2CT, 1MA:3CT, 2MA:1CT, and 3MA:1CT.

Alginate-butterfly pea microbeads as anthocyanin-based colorimetric sensors for biogenic amines and chicken spoilage monitoring.

Alginate microbeads incorporating blue butterfly pea (Clitoria ternatea L.) extract were developed as natural, pH-responsive colorimetric indicators for monitoring food spoilage. The blue butterfly pea extract, rich in anthocyanins, exhibited distinct pH-dependent color transitions from red (pH 2) to green (pH 10), supported by UV-Vis bathochromic shifts. Structural analyses revealed the successful incorporation of blue butterfly pea extract into the alginate matrix, as demonstrated by SEM images that showed extract addition produced smoother bead morphologies compared to plain alginate beads.
