Variable surface antigens of cloned populations of African trypanosomes were studied using 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis and monoclonal antibodies. Capillary electrophoresis/time-of-flight mass spectrometry(CE/TOFMS) has been used for analysis of in-gel digests of protein spots excised from two-dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-D SDS-PAGE). MOTIVATION: The DeCyder software (GE Healthcare) is the current state-of-the-art commercial product for the analysis of two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis (2D DIGE) experiments.
