Hemangioma of the bladder is an uncommon, benign vascular tumor. To date, less than 100 cases have been reported in the literature. A case of diffuse capillary hemangioma involving the entire bladder is described herein. The patient had previously received radiotherapy and the condition developed into severe bladder retraction with massive vesicoureteric reflux. The patient underwent cystectomy preserving the prostate and seminal vesicles and an ileal neobladder was created using a segment of the sigmoid colon. A follow-up of more than 4 years evidenced good results. The literature is reviewed

A 12-year-old spayed female American short-haired cat presented with a palatal gingival mass located between the right maxillary third incisor and the canine teeth. The mass was dark red and had a narrow attachment to the gingival margin of the canine tooth. The mass was completely removed by marginal excision and the histopathological diagnosis was a capillary hemangioma. The mass did not relapse until 1 year later; however, the tooth was extracted because of cervical resorption of the right maxillary canine immediately adjacent to the mass resection site. This report presents a rare case of

Neoplastic lesions of the fallopian tube are rarely seen by surgical pathologists. Haemangioma of the fallopian tube is an extremely rare benign neoplasm. A 30-year-old lady with polymenorrhea and dysmenorrhea underwent hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Her left fallopian tube showed a 2mm sized solid nodule in the wall. Histopathological examination revealed a well-defined vascular lesion in the left fallopian tube, consistent with capillary haemangioma. The vascular endothelium was highlighted by CD34 immunostaining. Our literature review has identified 10 cases of cavernous

A capillary hemangioma in the body of the sphenoid bone produced unilateral optic atrophy in a 13-year-old boy. The typical reticulated appearance of an osseous hemangioma was clearly demonstrated only on direct magnification radiographs. At angiography, patchy filling occurred through vessels arising from the internal carotid and internal maxillary arteries bilaterally. The few other reports of sphenoid hemangiomas are reviewed.

A 44-year-old man with a history of a foreign body in his right eye visited our hospital. On computed tomography a well-enhanced mass with low attenuation septal walls and a capsule was detected in the right orbit. On magnetic resonance imaging the mass showed inhomogenous high intensity on T2-weighted images and low intensity on diffusion-weighted images. The mass was histopathologically diagnosed as a lobular capillary hemangioma. This is the first report about image findings of lobular capillary hemangioma in the orbit.

Capillary hemangiomas are the most common tumor of the neck and head in children. Intracranial capillary hemangioma without generalized neuro-cutaneous hemangiomatosis is extremely rare, with only one report in the literature. We report a case of intracranial capillary hemangioma originating from the temporal base. An 8-year-old boy presented with a severe headache and nausea. A CT scan showed a low-density area in the left temporal lobe and an iso-density mass at the temporal base. This mass was enhanced by contrast medium. The mass lesion appeared as an iso-intensity area on T1-weighted MR i

A capillary-cavernous hemangioma in an obturator lymph node was found incidentally in a 64 year-old woman who had undergone unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and lymphadenectomy for an ovarian neoplasm. Vascular tumors of lymph nodes are briefly reviewed including eight previously described nodal capillary-cavernous hemangiomas. The association with other splanchnic hemangiomas is pointed out and the likelihood that the lesion is a hamartoma rather than a true neoplasm is addressed. Despite its rarity, this entity needs to be recognized by lymphologists who image lymph nodes by lymphangiography

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a common vascular lesion of the skin and subcutaneous tissue and is usually found on the face, trunk, and limbs. It is well known by general surgeons. CASE: A 42-year-old woman attended our clinic due to a rapidly growing, glistening, ulcerative, pedunculated vulvar mass. The mass was excised and subsequent histopathology revealed it as PG, which was completely unexpected. We reviewed the previous reported cases to investigate its clinical behavior, incidence, and management. CONCLUSION: PG of the vulva is a common clinical misdiagnosis. It is the third m

Hemangioma is a benign vascular soft tissue tumor. It is the most common soft tissue tumor in children and >60% of hemangiomas occur in the head and neck region. However, these tumors are rare in the external auditory canal (EAC). This case report describes a case of capillary hemangioma in the EAC in a woman 54 years of age. With the patient under local anesthesia in microscopic surgery, the mass was excised completely via a transcanal approach. If there is a cystic and pinkish mass in the EAC with symptoms of bleeding or pulsatile tinnitus, hemangioma should be considered. For symptomatic he

BACKGROUND: Capillary hemangioma is a rare tumor in spinal intradural location. Despite the rarity, early recognition is important because of the risk of hemorrhage. This is a case report of a woman who had capillary hemangioma of cauda equina.
CASE DESCRIPTION: A 54 -year-old woman presented with a low backache, radiating to the left leg for 2 months. She had left extensor hallucis weakness, sensory impairment in left L5 dermatome, and mild tenderness in lower lumbar spine. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) LS spine showed L4/5 intradural tumor, completely occluding canal in myelogram, enhanc

BACKGROUND: Infantile hemangiomas demonstrate a pattern of proliferative growth in infancy followed by a slow phase of involution. In contrast a rare type of vascular tumor, intramuscular capillary-type hemangioma, usually presents beyond the period of infancy with nonspecific symptoms and no evidence of involution.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to characterize the clinical, imaging, histopathological characteristics and management of intramuscular capillary-type hemangioma.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed a retrospective review of a 20-year period to identify children diagnos

BACKGROUND: The spleen is mainly affected by benign tumors that originate from the vascular endothelium. The most common is hemangioma, which presents as a small, localized lesion. Isolated diffuse hemangiomatosis of the spleen is a rare entity in which the entire splenic parenchyma is replaced by a proliferation of neoplastic blood vessels. Here we illustrate the case of a 26-year-old man presenting with splenomegaly due to diffuse hemangiomatosis of the white pulp who underwent a splenectomy.
METHODS: Representative samples of the spleen were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, and immunohi

INTRODUCTION: Hemangioma are rare benign vascular tumors. Histologically, there are several types including capillary, cavernous and mixed hemangioma. We present a very rare mixed hemangioma of the nasal septum.
CASE REPORT: A 30-year-old woman consulted for unilateral epistaxis and nasal obstruction. CT scan revealed a tumor filling the rhinopharynx, strongly enhanced after injection of contrast medium. It was pedicled on the posterior and superior nasal septum. Arteriography revealed a vascular blush. Tumor exeresis was performed by paralateronasal approach and endoscopic surgery. The histo

BACKGROUND: Juxtapapillary capillary hemangiomas can occur as isolated clinical abnormalities or a manifestation of von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease. Because of the location of these vascular tumors on or adjacent to the optic disc, any therapeutic treatment option involves risk. Management typically includes close monitoring, with treatment initiation as the tumor progresses or when vision is compromised. This case report reviews this condition while highlighting the treatment and potential complications associated with juxtapapillary capillary hemangioma.

Lobular capillary hemangioma, also known as pyogenic granuloma, is a common, solitary, benign neoplasm of the skin and mucous membranes. The etiology of this lesion remains unknown. Lobular capillary hemangioma can present rarely in a disseminated form, usually associated with other disorders. Two patients, aged 17 and 33, were admitted to the dermatology clinic with disseminated lobular capillary hemangiomas which appeared suddenly. There was no history of trauma in either case. The histopathology of the lesions was consistent with lobular capillary hemangioma. No associated disorders were fo
