The final Workshop of the meeting focused on cases of Hodgkin's disease (HD) in combination with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), either T, B, or anaplastic large cell (ALC) type. Previous studies have concentrated on the proliferative behaviour of the neoplastic cell compartment in Hodgkin's disease (HD). Hodgkin's disease may now be managed with several different regimens with the expectation of curing approximately 90 per cent of patients. Radiotherapy alone achieves this cure rate only in unilateral high cervical or inguinal stage 1 presentations. With all other presentations, radiotherapy requires the addition of chemotherapy to sustain the 90 per cent cure level. A retrospective study of 116 children with Hodgkin's disease diagnosed in the period 1935-1970 was undertaken to assess the prognostic role of histopathologic classiciation and clinical extent of the disease. The ages of the 80 boys and 36 girls ranged from 2.5 years to 15.0 years (mean, 10.0 years). The histopathologic diagnosis by lymph node biopsy revealed lymphocyte predominance in 22, nodular sclerosis in 67, mixed cellularity in 24, and lymphocyte depletion in 3. Thirty-two patients were treated in this Department from 1981-1992. The median age was 14 years (range 4 years to 17 years). There are 6 patients (19%) below the age of 10 years, 16 patients (50%) between 11 years to 15 years, and 10 patients (31%) above 16 years. Between 1968 and 1994, 133 patients with stages I and II supradiaphragmatic Hodgkin's disease were evaluated at our institution. During the same period we treated only 11 patients with stages I and II infradiaphragmatic Hodgkin's disease. The approach to staging patients with Hodgkin's disease has changed over the last 20 years. Although careful physical examination, chest radiograph, and bipedal lymph-angiogram remain the mainstays of the clinical evaluation, computed tomography (CT) scanning of the chest and abdomen is rapidly gaining acceptance as a useful ancillary procedure. The gastrointestinal tract is commonly involved in patients with lymphoma. Involvement of the oesophagus occurs in about 1% of patients. This case report describes a patient with oesophageal obstruction due to Hodgkin's disease of the oesophagus as the sole manifestation of a second relapse 10 years after initial diagnosis of the lymphoma.

We report a case of Hodgkin's disease of the endometrium. The endometrial stroma is replaced by a polymorphic cellular infiltrate in which Reed-Sternberg cells are seen. The patient also has a history of stage IV-B Hodgkin's disease that was diagnosed and treated three years earlier. To our knowledge, Hodgkin's disease of the endometrium has not been described.
