Objective: To investigate the effects of Shaosha-7 in rats with myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and its mechanisms. Methods: male SD rats were divided into sham operation group (n=10), myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury group (n=10), low, medium and high dose of Shaosha-7 groups (n=10), and positive drug group (n=10). The rats of Shaosha-7 (low, medium and high dose) groups were treated with Shaosha-7 at the doses of 0.4, 0.8 and 1.6 g/kg respectively, once a day for 15 days. The rats of positive drug group were treated with 0.3 g/kg Danshen, once a day for 15 days. The rats of the

INTRODUCTION: The consumption of large amounts of ethanol can directly lead to acute gastric mucosal bleeding, edema, and erosion, while long-term drinking has been associated with gastric ulcers. Previous research has demonstrated that Har Gabur, a traditional Mongolian medicine, alleviates gastric ulcers through the physical adsorption of its carbon components. It is well known that the immune response has an important role in gastric ulceration.
METHODS: In the present study, we used an ethanol-induced injury cell and mice model to investigate whether Har Gabur can inhibit the immune respo

Lomatogonium rotatum (L.) Fries ex Nym. is one of the traditional Mongolian medicines in the "Digeida" category. It has the effects of calming Xieri (a concept in Mongolian medicine) and clearing heat and promoting diuresis and is used for the treatment of diseases such as fever, headache, plague, typhoid, jaundice, and liver and gallbladder heat. However, the mechanism of its flavonoid compounds in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is not yet clear. In this study, a NAFLD mouse model was established by feeding mice with a choline-deficient high-fat (CDHF) diet for 8 w

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Ruda-6 (RD-6), a typical traditional Mongolian medicine formulae consisting of 6 herbs, has been traditionally used in treating gastric disorders. Even though it has been shown to protect against gastric ulcers (GU) in animal models, the gut microbiome and serum metabololite-related mechanisms that prevent GU are not well understood.
AIM OF THE STUDY: This study was conducted to evaluate the gastroprotective mechanism of RD-6 associated with the alteration of the gut microbiome and serum metabolic profiles in GU rats.

Trace elements in Mongolian medicine Susi-12 for cholecystitis and gallstones were analyzed in order to discuss the relation between Susi-12's drug action and the trace elements. The analysis was carried out using the pressure seal microwave digestion and inductive coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). It was found that the medicine contained great amount of trace elements, especially human-body-needed trace elements, such as Ca, Al, Mg, Fe, Sr, Mn, Zn, Cu etc., whereas heavy metals are very little, e.g. the contents of Pb, Cb, As etc are below the country's limit. OBJECTIVES: The Inonotus obliquus is a medicinal mushroom that grows on mature birch trees and is commonly used in traditional medicine for various ailments. The current study aimed to explore the hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and pancreatic protective effects of the water extract of Mongolian natural Inonotus obliquus on alloxan-induced diabetic mice.
METHODS: Alloxan monohydrate (200 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally single injected into C57BL/6 mice to induce diabetes. Alloxan-induced diabetic mice were orally given the water extract of inonotus obliquus (WEIO) at doses of 500 mg/kg and subcutan

PURPOSE: Traditional Mongolian Medicine Batri-7 (BT-7) is the key Mongolian Medicine (MM) for bacterial enteritis. BT-7 is a well-known clinical MM due to its antibacterial properties. BT-7 contains plant-derived bioactive compounds, but its molecular mechanism of action remains unclear. This study explores BT-7's antibacterial compounds and therapeutic mechanism in a Salmonella enteritis mouse model.
METHODS: The active components of BT-7 were detected by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry assay and identified by UPLC/Q-TOF-MS. An enteritis mouse model induced by Salmonella typhi

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common clinical autoimmune disease, characterized by persistent synovitis, cartilage destruction and systemic complications, and the incidence of which is increasing every year. The current study found that the characteristics of multi-component, multi-target, and overall regulation of ethnic drugs have significant effects on the prevention and treatment of RA, with less toxicity and side effects. However, there is a lack of comprehensive overview of existing ethnic medicine treatments for RA. This paper summarizes the available ethnomedicines for RA and reviews

The traditional Chinese medicine Nao Li Shen (containing ginseng, gastrodia tuber, chuanxiong rhizome and red sage root) is used in craniocerebral injury, cervical spondylosis and cerebrovascular diseases. The preparation, as an orally administered liquid, was tested in Mongolian gerbils and shown to increase tolerance to ischaemia and anoxia. Clinical use of the preparation resulted in improvement in 96% of 202 patients, as judged by right cerebral blood flow, TCD and CT examination. We conclude that Nao Li Shen has a positive curative effect upon craniocerebral injury and sequelae of cerebro
