Even the COVID-19 pandemic didn´t change anything: insights from a trend study on the cooperation of general practitioners and occupational health physicians in Germany.

BACKGROUND: The working fields of general practitioners (GPs) and occupational health physicians (OHPs) overlap manifoldly. Yet, cooperation between both groups is often scarce as has been revealed by studies from several countries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, GPs dealt with many work-related counselling topics. We conducted a trend study surveying German GPs and OHPs in 2014/2015 (GPOP-0 study) and 2023/2024 (GPOP-Trend) to analyse trends regarding a potential change of attitudes towards interdisciplinary cooperation over time, before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: The trend stu

Occupational health in Brazil.

Brazil is a recently industrialised country with marked contrasts in social and economic development. The availability of public/private services in its different regions also varies. Health indicators follow these trends. Occupational health is a vast new field, as in other developing countries. Occupational medicine is a required subject in graduation courses for physicians. Specialisation courses for university graduated professionals have more than 700 hours of lectures and train occupational health physicians, safety engineers and nursing staff. At the technical level, there are courses w

Methods and rationale for keeping records of hepatitis virus testing in Japanese workplaces.

In Japan, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare issued corporate guidance that employers should recommend their employees to have tests for hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus (HV) at least once in their lifetime. However, employers should treat this information as confidential, even though the testing is carried out along with the health examination designated by the Industrial Safety and Health Law. Therefore, the records of HV tests should not be kept by employers, even though records of medical examinations designated by the law must be. This study aimed to clarify the present met

Different reporting patterns for occupational diseases among physicians: a study of French general practitioners, pulmonologists and rheumatologists.
