Sex steroids influence organizational but not functional decidualization of feline endometrial cells in a 3D culture system†.

Successful implantation requires complex signaling between the uterine endometrium and the blastocyst. Prior to the blastocyst reaching the uterus, the endometrium is remodeled by sex steroids and other signals to render the endometrium receptive. In vitro models have facilitated major advances in our understanding of endometrium preparation and endometrial-blastocyst communication in mice and humans, but these systems have not been widely adapted for use in other models which might generate a deeper understanding of these processes. The objective of our study was to use a recently developed,

More than a whistle: examining the role of organizational culture and talent development in football referee progression.

Talent development is a foundational process that enables performance, facilitates the realization of potential, and promotes positive engagement with growth opportunities. In the context of football, this is important to referee bodies because of the need to attract, retain, and progress officials. Noting high referee attrition and a shortage of elite officials, this study examined how conscientiousness, mental toughness, and organizational culture influenced referees' perceptions of talent development. One hundred and eighty-one referees, categorized by the highest level at which they had of

Authentic leadership and organizational citizenship behavior: the mediating role of work engagement in a Confucian cultural context.

INTRODUCTION: In contemporary higher education, particularly within Confucian cultural contexts characterized by high power distance and hierarchical structures, leadership plays a critical role in fostering positive employee behaviors. Despite growing interest in authentic leadership, limited research has examined its influence on organizational citizenship behavior in non-Western settings, especially considering underlying mechanisms and boundary conditions. This study addresses this gap by investigating the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational citizenship behavior, w

Toward a more comprehensive analysis of the role of organizational culture in child sexual abuse in institutional contexts.

This article draws on a report prepared for the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (Palmer et al., 2016) to develop a more comprehensive analysis of the role that organizational culture plays in child sexual abuse in institutional contexts, where institutional contexts are taken to be formal organizations that include children among their members (referred to here as "youth-serving organizations"). We begin by integrating five strains of theory and research on organizational culture from organizational sociology and management theory into a unified f

Scaling up implementation of ART: Organizational culture and early mortality of patients initiated on ART in Nairobi, Kenya.

BACKGROUND: Scaling up the antiretroviral (ART) program in Kenya has involved a strategy of using clinical guidelines coupled with decentralization of treatment sites. However decentralization pushes clinical responsibility downwards to health facilities run by lower cadre staff. Whether the organizational culture in health facilities affects the outcomes despite the use of clinical guidelines has not been explored. This study aimed to demonstrate the relationship between organizational culture and early mortality and those lost to follow up (LTFU) among patients enrolled for HIV care. METHOD

Organizational Culture Shock and Knowledge Transfer Behavior Among Newly Hired Engineering PhDs in Firms: A Self-Determination Perspective.

Engineering PhDs are expected to act as key knowledge brokers between universities and firms. Drawing on self-determination theory (SDT), we examined the associations among organizational culture shock (OCS), SDT motivations, and knowledge transfer behavior (KTB) of newly hired engineering PhDs in Chinese firms. We also explored whether these associations varied across subgroups defined by gender, career goal at PhD entry, prior industry collaboration experience, and dissertation orientation. Data were collected from 466 engineering PhDs within one year after they entered firms. Structural equ

Transformative educational leadership as organizational practice: a practice theory perspective on reconfiguring teacher agency and professional culture in schools.

Educational leadership has increasingly been understood as a relational and practice-based phenomenon rather than an individual managerial attribute. However, limited research has examined how transformative educational leadership functions as an organizational practice that simultaneously reconfigures teachers' work, professional agency, and professional culture, particularly within Islamic educational institutions in the Global South. This study employed a qualitative multiple-case study design involving three public Islamic senior high schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) in Tulungagung, Indone

Long-term effects of COVID-19 on work routines and organizational culture - A case study within higher education's administration.

As a sudden, external event, the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly disrupted the workplace and required organizations to digitalize their working approaches. To understand how such external events affect organizations in the short- and long-term, we investigated the case of a higher education institution's administration, which combines features of public and private organizations. We applied a longitudinal case study and conducted interviews with 39 German higher education institution (HEI) employees at two time points during the first (2020) and second (2021) lockdown. Content analyses revealed that

Preliminary cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the organizational commitment questionnaire (OCQ-18) in a Tunisian nursing context.

A few validated instruments exist in Arabic to assess Organizational commitment, which limits research and practical applications in Arabic-speaking contexts. This study aimed to translate, culturally adapt and validate the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire developed by Allen, Meyer and Smith (1993) for use in Arabic-speaking nurses. A cross-sectional study was conducted among nurses at Sahloul University Hospital in Sousse, Tunisia using a convenience sampling method. The main inclusion criterion was primarily having more than 6 months of work experience. The Organizational Commitment Q

The influence of organizational culture on medication safety practices and associated risk factors in the community setting: A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Increasing attention has been given to the role of organizational culture in influencing medication safety practices across healthcare settings. The lack of widely accepted standardized instrumentation makes operational measurement of organizational culture and medication safety challenging. The purpose of this systematic review was to examine the impact of organizational culture on medication safety within community healthcare settings. METHODS: MEDLINE, CINAHL, Scopus, and Nursing & Allied Health were searched in August 2025 using keywords, subject terms, field codes, and Boolea

Plastamination, Human Health, and Countries' Cultural Orientation: An Exploratory Study on Prevention Strategies and Organizational Policies and Practices.

In recent decades, the increasingly widespread diffusion of plastic contamination (plastamination) has attracted growing attention from both the scientific and public community due to its harmful effects on human health and environmental balance. Several studies have highlighted a link between exposure to microplastics and nanoplastics and the onset of central nervous system problems, impaired reproductive function, altered liver metabolism, dysbiosis and other chronic diseases. At the same time, research has highlighted how plastamination negatively impacts natural ecosystems, accelerating bi

Organizational culture and affective commitment to e-learning' changes during COVID-19 pandemic: The underlying effects of readiness for change.

Higher education institutions (HEIs) have been embracing digital transformation for years, but the disruptive influence of the global COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated it. Despite the importance of organizational culture (OC) for the successful delivery of e-learning, empirical studies looking at its impact on academics' readiness and affective commitment to e-learning-induced changes are scant. This study unveils the underlying impacts of multiple employee readiness for change (ERFC) dimensions in the OC-employee affective commitment to change (EACC) relationship. Survey data were obtained fr

Safety attitudes, perceived organizational culture and knowledge of the physiologically deteriorating patient among mental health nurses: Cross-sectional, correlational study.

Mental health nurses have traditionally lagged in terms of physical healthcare skills and have been found to have poorer cultural safety-related attitudes relative to other nurses. Organizational culture, including safety-related culture, is associated with important aspects of care quality. The aim of the current study was to examine the relationships between safety-related attitudes, physical healthcare-related knowledge and organizational culture among mental health nurses. By doing so, the intention was to inform decisions about interventions to improve attitudes and care related to severe

Perceptions of organizational value and unethical/deviant behaviors among lecturers in Archeology and Religion and Cultural Studies: An intervention study.

BACKGROUND: Understanding an organization's ethical standards assists employees in abiding by stipulated rules and regulations and reduces the prevalent rate of inappropriate behaviors. Unfortunately, some workers do not know and as a result, they become dysfunctional, affecting their professional identities. Given this, scholars have called for psychoeducational strategies that coach workers to improve their perceptions. With this in mind, we investigated the impact of psychoeducational coaching on workplace ethical perceptions and deviant behaviors among lecturers in Archeology and Religion
