Integrating GBS-Derived SNP Markers with Phytochemical Profiling and Anti-Obesity Enzyme Inhibition in Phyllanthus emblica.

Phyllanthus emblica L. is a nutraceutically important medicinal plant; however, the relationship between genetic variation and bioactive potential remains poorly understood. This study integrates genome-wide SNP analysis, phytochemical profiling, and functional bioassays to investigate cross-scale differentiation among fourteen cultivars. Genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) identified 5644 high-quality SNPs from an initial dataset of 9018 SNPs, revealing moderate but structured genomic divergence (0.0275-0.0845). Phytochemical analysis of five commercial cultivars demonstrated significant variation

Tandem mass tag-based proteomics analysis reveals the multitarget mechanisms of Phyllanthus emblica against liver fibrosis.

Phyllanthus emblica (PE), a traditional multiethnic herbal medicine, is commonly applied to treat liver diseases. Our previous study demonstrated that aqueous extract of PE (AEPE) could alleviate carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced liver fibrosis in vivo, but the underlying molecular mechanisms are still unclear. The present study was undertaken to clarify the multitarget mechanisms of PE in treating liver fibrosis by proteomics clues. A CCl4-induced liver fibrosis rat model was established. The anti-liver fibrosis effects of chemical fractions from AEPE were evaluated by serum biochemical ind

Multi-omics analysis provides mechanistic insights into tanninase-assisted flavor evolution in Phyllanthus emblica L. wine.

Winemaking from Phyllanthus emblica L. is limited by astringency and tannin-associated instability. This study evaluated tanninase pretreatment followed by Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation for improving tannin-rich P. emblica L. wine. Metagenomics, LC-MS, and HS-SPME-GC-MS were used to characterize microbial succession and metabolite profiles. A total of 231 non-volatile metabolite features and 183 volatile flavor compounds were putatively annotated. Tanninase pretreatment reduced tannin content from 0.23% to 0.15% before inoculation and was associated with increased ellagic acid, suggest

Enhancing cognitive memory function using Phyllanthus emblica polysaccharides via modulating autophagy and reshaping the gut microbiota.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder marked by neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaque buildup, Tau hyperphosphorylation, and gut microbiota imbalance. Natural polysaccharides have been shown to mitigate cognitive decline by regulating the microbiota-gut-brain axis and autophagy, inhibiting neuroinflammation, enhancing Aβ efflux, and facilitating the clearance of Tau protein. Phyllanthus emblica polysaccharides (PEP) exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and gut microbiota-modulating properties in colitis and obese mice. However, the pote

Pectin from Phyllanthus emblica L.: Structure elucidation and synergistic in vitro anti-stomach adenocarcinoma effects with 5-fluorouracil.

In recent years, polysaccharides with potential anticancer activity have attracted widespread attention. In this study, a homogeneous polysaccharide fraction, PEP-3 (102.35 kDa), was extracted and purified from the fruit of Phyllanthus emblica L. Structural analysis revealed that its backbone consists of methylated and unmethylated α-1,4-GalpA residues at the C-6 position. O-2 at α-2,4-Rhap-1→ participates in backbone extension, while O-4 serves as a branch point for the Galp and Araf side chains. Through machine learning-based target screening, HSP90 was identified as the core therapeutic tar

Biphasic Effect of Phyllanthus emblica L. Extract on NSAID-Induced Ulcer: An Antioxidative Trail Weaved with Immunomodulatory Effect.

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica L.), apart from its food value, can be used as a gastroprotective agent in non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-induced gastropathy. It has been suggested that the antioxidative property of amla is the key to its therapeutic effect. Hence, on the basis of in vitro antioxidative potential, the ethanolic extract of amla (eAE) was selected for in vivo study in NSAID-induced ulcer. Intriguingly, eAE showed biphasic activity in ulcerated mice, with healing effect observed at 60 mg/kg and an adverse effect at 120 mg/kg.The dose-dependent study revealed that switchin

Projected Non-Monotonic Changes in the Potential Suitable Range of Phyllanthus emblica in China Under Future Climate Scenarios.

The economically important species Phyllanthus emblica L. has received increasing attention, yet its climate-driven distributional shifts across China remain unexplored. Using 446 occurrence records and a parameter-optimized MaxEnt model (RM = 0.1, FC = LQ), we forecasted habitat changes under three SSP scenarios (126, 370, 585) across the 2050s, 2070s, and 2090s. Three temperature variables, namely temperature seasonality (Bio4), temperature annual range (Bio7), and mean temperature of the driest quarter (Bio9), collectively contributed 90.2% to the model, confirming that thermal conditions,

Gallic Acid Enriched Fraction of Phyllanthus emblica Potentiates Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulcer Healing via e-NOS-Dependent Pathway.

The healing activity of gallic acid enriched ethanolic extract (GAE) of Phyllanthus emblica fruits (amla) against the indomethacin-induced gastric ulceration in mice was investigated. The activity was correlated with the ability of GAE to alter the cyclooxygenase- (COX-) dependent healing pathways. Histology of the stomach tissues revealed maximum ulceration on the 3rd day after indomethacin (18 mg/kg, single dose) administration that was associated with significant increase in inflammatory factors, namely, mucosal myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and inducible nitric oxide synthase (i-NOS) expr
