Evaluation of the Effect of Crestal Placement Depths on Primary Implant Stability Using the Resonance Frequency Analysis Method: An Experimental Study on Fresh-Frozen Cadavers.

AIM: Dental implants are frequently utilized to restore function and aesthetics in cases where natural teeth have been lost due to periodontal disease, dental caries, or oral infections. Implants positioned below the crestal level (subcrestal) have been reported to demonstrate superior outcomes across multiple parameters compared with implants placed at the crestal level. However, the number of studies in the literature assessing the primary stability of subcrestally placed implants remains limited. The aim of this study is to evaluate the primary stability of implants placed at varying subcre

Splitting of the magnetic encephalogram into «brain» and «non-brain» physiological signals based on the joint analysis of frequency-pattern functional tomograms and magnetic resonance images.

The article considers the problem of dividing the encephalography data into two time series, that generated by the brain and that generated by other electrical sources located in the human head. The magnetic encephalograms and magnetic resonance images of the head were recorded in the Center for Neuromagnetism at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Data obtained at McGill University and Montreal University were also used. Recordings were made in a magnetically shielded room and the gradiometers were designed to suppress external noise, making it possible to eliminate them from the data analysis.

Time-frequency analysis reveals an association between the specific nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal properties of serum samples and arteriosclerotic lesion progression in a diabetes mouse model.

Diabetes causes arteriosclerosis, primarily due to persistent hyperglycemia, subsequently leading to various cardiovascular events. No method has been established for directly detecting and evaluating arteriosclerotic lesions from blood samples of diabetic patients, as the mechanism of arteriosclerotic lesion formation, which involves complex molecular biological processes, has not been elucidated. "NMR modal analysis" is a technology that enables visualization of specific nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal properties of blood samples. We hypothesized that this technique could be used to

Feasibility of Using a Flex Constant to Monitor Implant Stability Changes in a Porcine Model.

This experimental study investigated the feasibility of using a flex constant (displacement-to-force ratio) to monitor changes in dental implant stability in a porcine model. The stability change was incurred by thawing a porcine model from a frozen state. The changes were simultaneously monitored using resonance frequency analysis (RFA) for comparison. A Straumann BL ∅4.1×10 mm SLA implant was placed in the retromolar area of a fresh porcine mandible following the manufacturer's surgical protocol, with the motor set at a torque of 35 N·cm. The porcine mandible was frozen to create a hig

The impact of geometrical parameters on acoustically driven drug delivery to maxillary sinuses.

Acoustically driven nebulized drug delivery (acoustic aerosol delivery) is the most efficient noninvasive technique for drug delivery to maxillary sinuses (MS). This method is based on the oscillation of the air plug inside the ostium to transport drug particles from the nasal cavity (NC) to the MS. The larger the wavelength of the air plug oscillation in the ostium, the greater the penetration of drug particles to the MS. However, using this technique, the maximum drug delivery efficiency achieved to date is 5%, which means 95% of the aerosolized drugs do not enter the MS and are wasted. Sinc

Resonance and bifurcation of fractional quintic Mathieu-Duffing system.

In this paper, the main subharmonic resonance of the Mathieu-Duffing system with a quintic oscillator under simple harmonic excitation, the route to chaos, and the bifurcation of the system under the influence of different parameters is studied. The amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency response equations of the main resonance of the system are determined by the harmonic balance method. The amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency response equations of the steady solution to the system under the combined action of parametric excitation and forced excitation are obtained by using the average m
