The impact of the flipped classroom model on college students' physical exercise behavior: a chain mediation effect of self-directed learning ability and exercise motivation.

BACKGROUND: Encouraging consistent physical exercise habits among college students is a significant concern in public health. University physical education courses offer advantages in shaping healthy practices, yet conventional teaching often fails to convert classroom learning into lasting exercise routines. This study investigates the impact of Flipped Classroom (FC) model on students' exercise behavior and tests the chained mediation of self-directed learning (SDL) ability and autonomous motivation (AM). We hypothesize that FC positively influences exercise behavior through the sequential m

Comparison of video-based and presentation-based self-directed instruction for learning basic neuroangiography.

BACKGROUND: Digital tools and simulation-based learning are playing an increasingly important role in medical education. Earlier studies have shown that video and virtual reality can be just as effective for teaching clinical skills as presentation-based teaching methods. This exploratory study compared two standardized self-directed instructional formats, video-based and presentation-based instruction, for teaching basic neuroangiographic skills. In addition to comparing objective and subjective learning outcomes between instructional formats, the study explored whether prior angiography expe

Pregnancy and health in the age of the Internet: A content analysis of online "birth club" forums.

BACKGROUND: Although studies report that more than 90% of pregnant women utilize digital sources to supplement their maternal healthcare, little is known about the kinds of information that women seek from their peers during pregnancy. To date, most research has used self-report measures to elucidate how and why women to turn to digital sources during pregnancy. However, given that these measures may differ from actual utilization of online health information, it is important to analyze the online content pregnant women generate. OBJECTIVE: To apply machine learning methods to analyze online

AI-guided multi-objective optimization identifies a Jelleine I-derived gram-negative antimicrobial peptide lead.

Antimicrobial peptides are promising alternatives to conventional antibiotics, but their translational development is often limited by the difficulty of simultaneously optimizing antibacterial potency, mammalian-cell compatibility, and formulation-relevant properties. Here, using Jelleine-I (J1) as a representative scaffold, we developed a multi-task learning and reinforcement learning-based framework for the multi-objective optimization of antimicrobial peptides across antibacterial activity, hemolytic toxicity, and self-assembly propensity. Experimental validation of AI-designed analogues id
