Effect of Microcapsules with Waterborne Coating as Core Material on Properties of Coating for Tilia Europaea and Comparison with Other Microcapsules.

Urea formaldehyde was used as wall material and waterborne coatings as a core material to prepare microcapsules. So as to explore the influence of mass ratio of core to shell, reaction temperature and standing time on the performance of microcapsules, the orthogonal test of three factors and two levels was put into effect. The orthogonal experimental results showed the mass ratio of core to shell was the most important factor. With the increase of the mass ratio of core to shell, the output and clad ratio of microcapsules increased first and then decreased. The microcapsule with the mass ratio

Production of Instant Linden Tea (Tilia spp.) Powder: Integrating Compound-Level Infusion Kinetics With Response Surface-Optimized Spray Drying.

Producing instant herbal teas with consistent bioactive composition requires both efficient extraction and controlled drying to prevent compound degradation. This study developed instant linden tea (Tilia spp.) by integrating compound-level infusion kinetics with response surface-optimized spray drying. Monitoring individual polyphenols during hot-water infusion revealed that extraction at 80°C for 45 min resulted in the highest recovery of major flavonoids and catechins while minimizing thermal epimerization. This optimized infusion was subsequently spray-dried according to a Box-Behnken expe

Effect of Tilia x viridis flower extract on the proliferation of a lymphoma cell line and on normal murine lymphocytes: contribution of monoterpenes, especially limonene.

Tilia species are widely used in Europe as medicinal plants. The selective antiproliferative activity of a Tilia cordata flower dichloromethane extract (DME) on a lymphoma cell line has been reported previously and in order to extend this to other unstudied Tilia species, the effect of Tilia x viridis DME on the proliferation of tumor and normal murine lymphocytes was investigated. The bioguided fractionation of DME yielded a fraction rich in limonene (L), alpha-pinene and beta-pinene, which presented a selective antiproliferative action on tumor lymphocytes (EC(50) on tumor cells: 3.8 +/- 0.2

A hybrid deep learning framework for estimating urban tree transpiration.

Urban trees regulate urban water-energy exchange via transpiration, yet accurate estimates in urban settings remain challenging. Traditional Jarvis-type models often require frequent recalibration and can produce biased estimates when parameters vary or structural assumptions are violated. Alternatively, hybrid deep learning (DL) models that integrate data-driven approaches with process knowledge represent a promising alternative, merging the flexibility of DL with prior information from process models. Nonetheless, the effectiveness of these hybrids for estimating urban tree transpiration has

Estimating CO2 response in a mixed broadleaf forest using the dynamic assimilation technique.

BACKGROUND: Estimating the CO2 response of forest trees is of great significance in plant photosynthesis research. CO2 response measurement is traditionally employed under steady state conditions. With the development of open-path gas exchange systems, the Dynamic Assimilation Technique (DAT), allows measurement under non-steady state conditions. This greatly improves the efficiency and data density of CO2 response measurement. This study aims to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of different models in fitting DAT data, addressing the current gap in verification of model performance. RESU

Improving Air Quality by Nitric Oxide Consumption of Climate-Resilient Trees Suitable for Urban Greening.

Nitrogen oxides (NOx), mainly a mixture of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), are formed by the reaction of nitrogen and oxygen compounds in the air as a result of combustion processes and traffic. Both deposit into leaves via stomata, which on the one hand benefits air quality and on the other hand provides an additional source of nitrogen for plants. In this study, we first determined the NO and NO2 specific deposition velocities based on projected leaf area (sV d) using a branch enclosure system. We studied four tree species that are regarded as suitable to be planted under predi
