[Origanum vulgare and hemorrhagic risk, about a case].

INTRODUCTION: The use of medicinal plants in Algeria is an ancestral practice that remains relevant today. The population relies on plants to treat various diseases and everyday ailments, which can be dangerous, especially when taking medication [1,2]. The interaction between plants and medication can lead to a modification of the plasma concentrations of the latter, which can impact its therapeutic effectiveness and be responsible for toxicity or therapeutic failure [1,2]. The interaction can also be pharmacodynamic, resulting in the potentiation of the effect or its antagonism. The risk is e

Nano-zirconium-silicate solid-phase extraction method for the rapid quantification of pyrrolizidine alkaloids from plant extracts by UHPLC-QTOF-MS.

The aim of this work was to develop and validate a rapid dispersive-solid-phase extraction method for the quantification of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA) from plant extracts. The method was focused on the significant removal of the intricate matrix to ensure good sensitivity for the subsequent instrumental analysis of PA. This was achieved by employing nano-zirconium silicate (NZS) as a dispersive-SPE sorbent. The specific affinity of NZS for PAs allowed for the effective removal of a substantial portion of the complex matrix, thereby significantly improving the sensitivity of the method, compa

Verbenalin alleviates acute lung injury induced by sepsis and IgG immune complex through GPR18 receptor.

Acute lung injury is significantly associated with the aberrant activation and pyroptosis of alveolar macrophages. Targeting the GPR18 receptor presents a potential therapeutic approach to mitigate inflammation. Verbenalin, a prominent component of Verbena in Xuanfeibaidu (XFBD) granules, is recommended for treating COVID-19. In this study, we demonstrate the therapeutic effect of verbenalin on lung injury through direct binding to the GPR18 receptor. Verbenalin inhibits the activation of inflammatory signaling pathways induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and IgG immune complex (IgG IC) via GP
