Carcinoma-in-situ of the cerivix treated with colposcopy guided epithelial conization. Report of a 4-7 year follow-up study.

Twenty-five patients with the diagnosis of carcinoma-in-situ (CIS) of the cervix were treated with colposcopy guided epithelial conization. During the follow-up study of 4-7 years' duration, there was no recurrence of CIS in 20 of the 25 patients. Between 6 and 12 months after conization, 3 patients showed recurrence of CIS. Two of these patients were treated with further epithelial conization with no evidence of further recurrence 4 years after the second treatment. The third patient refused to accept further epithelial conization and modified radical hysterectomy was done without any evidenc

Effects of adding low-dose esketamine to sufentanil and propofol sedation during cervical conization: a single-centre, randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Cervical conization is a brief but painful procedure that can be performed under sufficient sedation with propofol and opioids. However, this sedation approach comes with a high risk of sedation-related adverse events (SRAEs). Esketamine, an N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, causes less cardiorespiratory depression than opioids. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of adding a low dose of esketamine to propofol and sufentanil sedation as an opioid-reduced regimen. METHODS: A total of 122 consecutive patients with ASA I-II, body mass index < 30

Safety and efficacy of remimazolam compared with propofol for general anesthesia during cold knife conization: a single-center, randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Cold knife conization is usually performed under general anesthesia without intubation. This type of anesthesia is more critical in terms of the properties of the sedative drugs. Remimazolam is a novel ultrashort-acting benzodiazepine in which the lipid bond can be rapidly hydrolyzed by nonspecific lipases in the plasma. Therefore, remimazolam can be used for general anesthesia without intubation in patients undergoing short procedures. In this study, we compared the safety and efficacy of remimazolam with those of propofol for cold knife conization. METHODS: This single-center, r

The efficacy of human papillomavirus prophylactic vaccination after conization in preventing cervical intraepithelial neoplasia recurrence: A prospective observational study in China.

High-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infection is the cause of most cervical cancers. Since therapeutic vaccines are not yet available for clinical practice, the administration of HPV prophylactic vaccines in patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) arouses great interest and its value after excisional treatment of CIN remains unclear. We conducted this prospective cohort study to evaluate the impact of HPV prophylactic vaccination on preventing women from subsequent infection and cervical lesions after excision treatment. 148 patients after loop electrosurgical excision proced
