This study identified the main components of the drugs and crime experience of a sample of 25 drug-dependent inmates interviewed in prison. Text analyses were conducted using a phenomenological method. Research has identified that juvenile victimization can play a detrimental role for individuals later in life. While this literature has focused on direct and indirect forms of victimization at different stages of life, the influence of juvenile victimization on fear of crime and violent victimization as an adult has been limited. To expand this body of literature, the present research examines the effects of direct (sexual victimization) and indirect (witnessing parental intimate partner violence) juvenile victimization on fear of crime as well as the prevalence of victimization as an adult.

The incidence of violent crimes committed by youthful offenders in the United States is increasing. In this report, 150 inmates in a prison for youths (ages 14 to 24 years) who were treated by a psychiatrist were compared with 150 control subjects on several parameters including those who had committed violent crimes (V) versus those who had committed nonviolent crimes (NV). This study critically examines the effectiveness of residency restrictions for sex offenders in South Korea by analyzing crime proximity and patterns.
